Summary

TrimBoard is a manufacturer of architectural millwork, using both traditional wood products as well as synthetic products like PVC and ACRE (www.modern-mill.com). Synthetic products have grown to represent 70% of TrimBoard’s annual revenue. TrimBoard is expecting to double its revenue over the next two years using a more focused sales effort.

As a Sales Account Executive, you will report to the President of TrimBoard and will be responsible for leading all sales efforts for custom Pergolas, ACRE siding and decking products by building relationships and selling to Contractors, Architects, Designers, Garden Centers primarily in the MA (central & western) and CT markets and provide the best customer sales experience possible. Using your creative and innovative building materials knowledge and sales skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a personal approach, you will assist our clients in obtaining the enhanced material for their creative ideas or renovation needs they envision.

Primary Duties

  • Solicit, hunt, cold call, and prospect for new accounts and projects by phone, email, text, and social media.
  • Generate leads by various search methods such as networking events, internet mining & searching (Google, etc.), associations, etc.
  • Sell to Commercial Contractors, high-end Builders, and Landscape Architects in MA and CT that currently use PVC and ACRE and generally spec pergolas for their projects.
  • Creative and thoughtful follow up with prospects.
  • Develop relationships with clients and focus on generating future referral business.
  • Travel to clients’ properties or homes to assist in the home improvement project.
  • Brainstorm creative design plans and prospective ideas together.
  • Provide product recommendations and educate clients in materials, finishes, and fixtures.
  • Review design drawings and submit request for quotes (RFQs) to the production team.
  • Conduct on-site visits to take photos, measurements, perform inspections, and assess existing layouts.

Other Responsibilities

  • Act as the liaison between the customer, estimators and production teams and material vendors.
  • Follow up with customers, estimating team, and other vendor partners to ensure the proposal is completed in a timely manner.
  • Learn the warranty policies of all items sold and be able to order such items when requested.
  • Review assigned accounts to ensure payments and credits are processed in an accurate and timely manner while keeping all information highly confidential.
  • Attend industry networking events and stay updated on current trends and industry advancements.
  • Understand the issues that typically arise with installation of pergolas.

Background Profile

  • Minimum of 4-5 years relationship sales and/or customer service experience selling outdoor building materials such as pergolas or other synthetic products like PVC and ACRE siding and decking.
  • Knowledge of pergolas, PVC or ACRE siding and decking or any other building material sales experience advantageous, but not a necessity.
  • Versed in different products, design layouts, offerings, trends, materials, color, finishes, and related vendors.
  • Excellent time management skills in planning, organizing (particularly self-organization), coordinating, and managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Clear, professional communication skills (verbal & written) and excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Possess an extremely high commitment to customer satisfaction and high sense of self-responsibility.
  • Self-starter, highly motivated, independent, disciplined, goal orientated, and driven achiever.
  • Strong work ethic, enjoy competitive challenges, energetic, dependable, persuasive, and cheerful
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel to track sales, clients, and financials, as well as Word and Outlook.
  • Basic math skills for accurate measurements, cost calculations, and gross profit.
  • Ability to negotiate, close deals, and achieve sales goals.
  • Ability to travel 50% daily and willingness to drive long distances for appointments, if necessary.
  • Valid Driver’s license, clean and clear driving record, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle needed.

Education

  • BA in Marketing/Management/Communications or equivalent work experience.
