POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Resource Development Manager
Full-time- Exempt status
REPORTS TO: Chief Development Officer
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
This role provides leadership, organization and execution of the annual giving program and special events.
The Resource Development Manager will work closely with the Chief Development Officer to ensure the success of the organization’s Annual Giving program and yearly fundraising events. Part of a four-person team, they will have the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of nonprofit fundraising and communications.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Annual Giving Direction
Stewardship & Data Management
- Provide primary oversight and management of the CRM (Bloomerang)
- Oversee the entry of all donations into our CRM, coordinating with the Wilmington Administrative Assistant, Onslow Office Manager, to ensure correct and complete entry and efficient thank you communication
- Support the CDO in monthly account reconciliation with the business office
- Manage and execute the stewardship matrix
- Assign duties and track stewardship functions through CRM
- Coordinate with Grant Writer to ensure that grant makers are being thanked and stewarded
- Recruit and support volunteers in stewardship activities for the organization
Annual Solicitations
- Oversee the planning and implementation of electronic and mailed annual appeals in partnership with the Communications Manager (3-4 appeals).
- Oversee the planning and implementation of Giving Tuesday with the Communications Manager
- Plan and manage one annual peer-to-peer fundraising push utilizing board members and volunteers.
Tours & Donor Cultivation Events
- Plan, implement and follow-up with Club tours as needed.
- Work with the RD team to implement yearly stewardship events.
Special Events Direction
- Planning, implementation, and follow-up for at least three annual fundraising events.
- Manage all aspects of event committees and coordination, including but not limited to, recruitment, management, and stewardship of committee members.
- Manage all aspects of sponsor relationships including solicitation, follow-up and stewardship.
- Work with Marketing on publicity, including public relations, advertising and collateral material design, production and distribution, and digital presence.
- Responsible for the development and fulfillment of the events budgets.
- Responsible for all vendor relationships and for in-kind donation solicitations for each event.
- Manage all post-event follow-up and communication with a focus on stewardship.
- Actively participate in the evaluation and overall planning of the organization’s event strategy.
- Planning and execution of several smaller donor stewardship events each year.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide valuable input and strategic thinking to Resource Development overall goals and annual fundraising plan supporting a growing and changing organization as needs and positions evolve over time.
- Participate on the Board RD Committee
- Other duties as assigned to by Chief Development Officer or CEO.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 3 years of non-profit experience with a proven track record of fundraising event planning and execution.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and fundraising database systems (e.g., Bloomerang, Raiser's Edge, Donor Perfect).
- Ability to organize projects and tasks efficiently, meet deadlines and perform an array of duties in a fluid environment, both independently and as a team member.
- Possess exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy of reports.
- Ability to relate well and work effectively with multiple constituencies and audiences.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
SALARY/BENEFITS
- Full time exempt position
- Compensation range: $45,000-$55,000
- Benefit plan includes paid Health, Vision, AD&D, Life Insurance, LTD and 401- K with company match
