Company Background:

Alta Forest Products, in partnership with Itochu Building Products, is the world's largest producer of wood fence boards. It specializes in Western Red Cedar and other premium species found in the Pacific and Inland Northwest forests. In addition to producing fence boards and pallet stock lumber, Alta's zero-wood-waste sawmills produce by-products such as wood chips, sawdust, mulch, and biofuel.


Headquartered in centrally located Chehalis, Washington, Alta operates fence board sawmills in four other rural communities: Morton, WA; Shelton, WA; Amanda Park, WA; and Naples, ID.


The Role:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team. As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining supply chain reporting and planning, as well as providing clerical support for inbound and outbound logistical operations. You will also be responsible for coordinating inventory management, warehousing, and transportation activities to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate logistical functions, including sourcing, receiving, purchasing, and dispatching.
  • Manage daily & weekly planning and reporting
  • Provide clerical support for inbound and outbound logistical operations.
  • Assist with the coordination of inventory management, warehousing, and transportation activities to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of inventory levels and shipments.
  • Process freight invoices
  • Ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure delivery deadlines are met.
  • Resolve logistical issues and discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required, and a college degree is preferred.
  • Previous experience in logistics, supply chain management, or related field
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Excels at operating in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Previous experience in supply chain preferred.
  • Effectively handles multiple high-priority projects in addition to normal responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and logistics software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Self-motivated and quality-focused.

The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.


Position Type/Travel/Schedule:

This position is non-exempt per FLSA guidelines and eligible for overtime. It is a full-time position (40 Hours), and overtime work may be required as projects or job duties demand. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday..
