What You Should Know About this position:
  • This is a full-time exempt position.
  • Schedule will include Monday-Friday with hours of 8:30am-5:00pm with some remote work days

The Brand Journalist & Content Development Essential Duties Are:

As a strategic storyteller at Ohio's Hospice, you will be instrumental in advancing the organization's mission and brand identity by developing and implementing strategic communication content. That enhances program awareness and visibility amongst all stakeholders. Your multifaceted role involves serving as a lead content curator and executing a comprehensive social media strategy, all of which contribute to fostering meaningful relationships, maintaining compliance, and protecting the organization's reputation.


Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field is required, an advanced degree is preferred
    • Minimum five years’ experience either in-house or with an agency; ability to influence and engage peers; ability to effectively interface with senior management, Board of Directors and staff
    • Demonstrated skill and comfort in proactively building relationships with top tier reporters and editors, and in successfully positioning subject matter with the media to achieve high-impact placements
    • Extensive successful writing and editing experience (externally focused) with a variety of print and online communications media; Creative and thoughtful on how new media technologies can be utilized
    • Demonstrated experience and leadership in managing a comprehensive strategic communication, media relations to advance an organization's mission and goals
    • A minimum of five years’ experience in planning, writing, editing, and production of newsletters, press releases, annual reports, marketing literature, and other print publications and directories
    • Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
    • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical finance, and administration initiatives
    • Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output ; Ability to make decisions in a changing environment and anticipate future needs
    • Passion for Ohio’s Hospice mission
    • Valid Driver’s License (Safe Driving Record)
    • State Minimum Automobile Insurance
