Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $25/Hr
Shifts Available: Evening, and Weekend.
Work Location: San Carlos, CA 94070 in person.

PARCA is seeking Direct Support Professionals to supervise and monitor developmentally disabled adults with behavioral disorders in a residential living facility. Your primary purpose will be to assist these individuals in furthering their independence.

Essential Functions of this role:

  • Ensure clients' location at all times, whether in the house or out in the community.
  • Administer and document medications throughout the shift as prescribed.
  • Assist clients with hygiene, grooming, and other hygiene-related tasks.
  • Assist clients with client-specific household chores and cleaning bedrooms.
  • Assist clients with preparing lunch and dinner.
  • Ensure the house is clean: beds are neatly made, bedrooms are picked up, kitchens and bathrooms are clean, garbage is taken out, appliances and lights are turned off, grounds are free of debris, and doors are locked before leaving.

  • Care deeply about PARCA’s mission and sincerely appreciate and respect our clients’, their families, and our staff with a high degree of integrity when dealing with confidential and sensitive information (HIPPA).
  • Supervise and monitor developmentally disabled adults with behavioral disorders in a residential setting.
  • Ensure the health, wellness, and safety of all residents.
  • Perform all medication-related responsibilities, including administering, ordering, recording, and destruction.
  • Have a passion for helping others.
  • Have strong skills in crisis management and intervention.
  • Be willing to help clients achieve the most independence possible.

Requirements for this Role:

  • Possess maturity, judgment, and skills in interpersonal relations with the ability to interact appropriately with management, co-workers, and clients.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and car insurance or be willing to travel via public transpiration with clients.
  • High school diploma/GED or higher
  • Must pass a Background check.
  • Must present a negative TB test, and proof of COVID vaccinations.
  • Prior DSP, Residential Counselor, ESP, Caregiver, PCA, Home Health Aide, or other related experience: 6 Months (Required)
  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Valid First Aid and Adult CPR certification [or willing to take paid course to obtain certification within 2 weeks of hire]
  • Ability to pass Direct Support Professional 1 (DSP 1) within the first year of employment and DSP 2 within the second year of employment.
  • Willingness to be flexible in shift schedule and house assignments.
