What are the primary responsibilities in the Industrial Security Specialist position?

  • Program Security Support:
    • Performs duties related to the role of Facility Security Officer (FSO), Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), and Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO).
    • Assists in all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).
    • Organizes, coordinates, executes, and interprets required research to achieve stated security goals, including furthering the industrial security discipline within the organization.
    • Prepares and submits routine documentation to immediate supervision.
    • Works closely with Program Management to identify security requirements and vulnerabilities.
    • Develops, implements and manages program security across the company
    • Reviews security program requirements for efficiency and standardization.
    • Partners with and acts as a liaison with government agencies / organizations to ensure contract security compliance with directives and regulations.
    • Participates in planning and preparations of new security programs.
    • Participates in preparation of security proposals.
    • Identifies program issues and implements corrective actions to identified security problems as directed.
    • Utilizes, inputs, and maintains accuracy in the SIMS security database, as well as other Government databases.
    • Assists with local security training
    • Conducts security briefings and assists with the overall security education and training program.
    • Investigates security incidents and violations relating to classified programs.
    • Provide local Visitor Control and meeting support
    • Create, scan, maintain, and organize security documentation.
    • Provides Security Help Desk Ticketing support to include reviewing, coordinating, and approving requests
  • Physical Security Support to include:
    • Maintain Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to include: programming, testing, coordinating, user training, and response
    • Maintain Access Control Systems (ACS) to include: badging, reports, user training, and maintenance
    • Assist with building camera systems, monitoring, intercoms, and guard coordination
    • Assist with Physical Security inspections, testing, and construction
    • Assist with Physical Security Documentation and approvals
    • Escorting personnel in secure areas
  • Technical/Computer Security Support to include:
    • Data Transfers
    • Media Registration and Control
    • Assisting Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) with verifying compliance and continuous monitoring
    • Media Destruction
  • Coordinate local security needs, support, and requirements with the RRC security team
  • Assist in other areas of security and support the RRC security team when required

What required background will make you successful?

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain government TS//SCI security clearance
  • Must be able to successfully complete a CI polygraph
  • US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED

Preferred skills:

  • 1-3 years’ experience working in Industrial Security
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Professional Certification in Industrial Security
  • Current favorably adjudicated T5/T5R and eligibility for a TS//SCI clearance
  • Experience supporting SCI security programs.
  • Experience supporting SAP security programs.
  • Experience as a Facility Security Officer, Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO), and/or Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO)
  • Understanding of applicable Government manuals (ex. ICD’s, NISPOM, DoD Security Manuals, etc.)
  • Organizational skills, writing skills, communication skills, and an attention to detail
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Must work well both independently and in a team environment with the ability to multitask in fast paced environment while providing excellent customer service
  • Desire to continue to learn and grow in the security field
  • Ability to climb up to a 10-foot ladder to perform Physical security checks.

Compensation: Starts at $81,000 + benefits. Total compensation is based on qualifications and experience.

  • Please note this range is specific to employees working in Colorado. Salary ranges for remote candidates working outside of Colorado can be subject to regionalized compensation based on their respective work location.
