Buyer/Planner

Position Overview: Pivotal Systems is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join our team in Fremont, CA. The Buyer/Planner will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and components necessary for the production of our industry-leading products. This position requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute procurement strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials and components required for production.

2. Analyze demand forecasts, sales orders, and inventory levels to determine optimal inventory levels and reorder points.

3. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including production, engineering, and quality assurance teams, to understand requirements and ensure alignment of procurement activities with production schedules.

4. Identify and qualify new suppliers, negotiate pricing and contract terms, and establish supplier relationships to ensure a reliable and diversified supply chain.

5. Monitor supplier performance, including on-time delivery, quality, and cost, and take proactive measures to address any issues or deviations from agreed-upon standards.

6. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to manage inbound shipments, resolve shipping discrepancies, and optimize inventory storage and distribution.

7. Utilize ERP and MRP systems to maintain accurate inventory records, track purchase orders, and generate reports for management review.8. Continuously evaluate and improve procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate supply chain risks.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, engineering, or a related field.

2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, planning, or supply chain management within the semiconductor or electronics industry.

3. Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.

4. Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

5. Familiarity with ERP and MRP systems, preferably experience with SAP or Oracle.

6. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

7. Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes and materials preferred.

8. APICS or ISM certification is a plus.
