Functional Description:

Davis Defense Group ("DDG"), has begun initial screenings for Adjunct Faculty (AF) to support College of Distance Education and Training (CDET) SEBSP non-resident seminars (NRS) at Camp Butler, Okinawa Japan. The SEBSP executes in two parts, beginning with an eight (8) week non-resident seminar (NRS) period involving evening (after workhours) seminars. Adjunct Faculty will coordinate with a DDG Regional Chief Instructor to provide instructional services for the CDET SEBSP seminars. Each NRS class is supported by two AF – Leadership and Communications. The Leadership instructor serves as the seminar group’s primary faculty and leads 7 of 8 seminar lessons. The Communications faculty leads 1 of 8 seminar lessons and grades and provides feedback for one essay (outline, rough draft, and final essay) and one oral presentation. Candidates for both the Leadership and Communications positions must possess the requisite skills, experience, and abilities to lead discussions, grade seminar contributions, papers and presentations, and mentor U.S. Marines enrolled in the SEBSP seminars. All SEBSP NRS seminars will be executed on site (in person) or virtually using a CDET approved online collaboration system.


Faculty Requirements:


Leadership Adjunct

Mandatory Qualifications:

· Served as a senior enlisted advisor or as an MOS specialist as an E-9.

Desired Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree

· Knowledge of/experience with adult learning theory and teaching strategies.

· MAGTF Operational experience.

· Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP) experience.

· Joint duty background.

· Experience with Learning Support Systems (LSS) (e.g., Moodle).


Communications Adjunct

Mandatory Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or related field.

· Demonstrated strong grammar and editing skills and possess excellent interpersonal communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

· Military or DOD familiarity.

· Knowledge of and experience employing adult learning theory and teaching strategies.

· Experience with Learning Support Systems (LSS) (e.g., Moodle).
