Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly talented and experienced individual to join our team as the Senior Director of Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR), Epidemiology, and Real-World Evidence (RWE). Reporting directly to the head of medical affairs, the Senior Director will play a pivotal role in leading the development and execution of strategies to generate and leverage real-world evidence to support the launch, development, market access, and commercialization of Aerovate's novel cardiopulmonary therapy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the HEOR, Epidemiology, and RWE functions, aligning activities with the company's overall objectives and therapeutic focus on rare cardiopulmonary diseases.
  • Evidence Generation Planning: Lead the development of evidence generation plans to support product value proposition, market access, and reimbursement efforts, incorporating HEOR, epidemiological, and RWE methodologies.
  • Study Design and Execution: Oversee the design, implementation, and analysis of HEOR, epidemiological, and RWE studies, including observational research, database analyses, and patient-reported outcomes studies.
  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze and interpret real-world data to generate insights into disease burden, treatment patterns, comparative effectiveness, and healthcare utilization, informing decision-making and strategy development.
  • Market Access Support: Collaborate with Market Access, Pricing, and Reimbursement teams to develop value dossiers, health economic models, and other tools to support product reimbursement and market access negotiations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, guidelines, and industry standards governing HEOR, epidemiology, and RWE research, including FDA and EMA requirements.
  • External Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, research partners, and patient advocacy groups to enhance Aerovate's capabilities and reputation in HEOR, epidemiology, and RWE.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the HEOR, Epidemiology, and RWE teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Qualifications: 
  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, PharmD, or equivalent) in health economics, epidemiology, outcomes research, or related field required.
  • Demonstrated years of experience in HEOR, epidemiology, RWE, or related roles within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with a focus on cardiopulmonary diseases preferred.
  • Expertise in study design, data analysis, and interpretation of real-world data, with a strong understanding of statistical methods and health economic modeling techniques.
  • Demonstrated track record of success in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects in a matrixed environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and objectives.
  • Proven ability to think strategically and drive innovative solutions to address business challenges.
  • Experience working in a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company and collaborating with stakeholders across different geographies and cultures.
