Job Title: Controller

Location: Chandler, AZ (On-site 4 days a week)

Compensation: $170K base DOE + 15% bonus

The Kostelic Agency, in partnership with a prominent force in the advanced technology services industry, is excited to announce a job opportunity for a Controller.

In this role, your primary responsibility will be to guide and enhance the accounting division, focusing on the oversight of financial processes and reporting mechanisms, including the crucial tasks of monthly closures and work-in-progress (WIP) evaluations.

You will ensure that team practices and internal controls align with regulatory standards and company policies, thereby maintaining the financial integrity of our operations. Additionally, a significant aspect of this position involves the leadership and growth of our accounting team.

Core Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the strategy and execution of financial processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
• Analyze operational performance through financial reviews, contributing to strategic planning and efficiency improvements.
• Oversee daily operations of the finance department, ensuring smooth and efficient financial activities and team collaboration.
• Implement and maintain financial systems and controls, streamlining processes and ensuring accuracy in reporting.
• Provide leadership and direction to the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous development.

Specific Duties:

• Direct the full spectrum of monthly financial procedures, including analysis, reporting, and ledger upkeep.
• Guide the development and execution of financial strategies, including budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Lead the review and analysis of company performance, offering insights and strategies to improve financial outcomes.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial documentation, adhering to professional and legal standards.
• Manage the team handling monetary transactions, budgeting, and cost control, promoting accuracy and efficiency.
• Facilitate the preparation and filing of tax documents, acting as a secondary point of contact.
• Oversee the accurate representation of revenue, especially focusing on project evaluation and financial reporting.
• Prepare and validate financial documents for internal and external analysis.
• Organize and direct the annual audit process, liaising with audit teams.
• Plan and oversee financial operations, including periodic forecasts and comprehensive budgeting.
• Commit to the principles of ethical accounting practices, ensuring financial security and integrity.
• Enhance departmental collaboration and performance through effective leadership and communication.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Advanced degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Technical Accounting background mandatory (ASC 606, ASC742).
• Certification as a CPA is essential.
• At least ten years of relevant financial experience, with a minimum of five years in a managerial role.
• Demonstrated history of managing financial operations for a company with mid-size annual revenue.
• Prior experience in leading a financial team, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
