Perimeter Behavioral Hospital of Dallas is seeking a Director of Admissions to assume leadership responsibilities assigned with complete oversight for the day-to-day operations of the department; clinical support with staff for case presentations and treatment recommendations; daily review of HCS system for accurate data entry, support with training of new staff, and maintaining staff schedules including on call rotations. The Director of Admissions is responsible for system wide telephonic and in-person risk assessments, ensuring appropriate levels of care with a preliminary diagnosis, facilitating the initial treatment plan with family, and implements crisis intervention techniques. In addition, the Director of Admissions ensures rapid facilitation of admissions and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff to have a consistent and efficient admission process.  The Director of Admissions is also responsible for the department’s budget, policies and procedures, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and participates with the senior leadership team in the development and management of processes related to the hospital’s strategic goals. The Director of Admissions reports directly to the hospital’s CEO.

Essential Role and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and supervise the admissions and outreach staff, including hiring, training, coaching, evaluating, and disciplining.
  • Establish and monitor the admissions and outreach policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and ethical codes.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the intake, assessment, and admission of clients, ensuring that they receive an appropriate level of care and services.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with referral sources, such as interventionists, industry professionals, therapists, hospitals, and other treatment centers and recovery service providers.
  • Utilizing the system to analyze and report on admissions and outreach data, such as inquiries, referrals, admissions, occupancy, retention, satisfaction, and outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or barriers that may affect the admissions and outreach processes, such as staffing, resources, communication, documentation, quality, or customer service.
  • Participate in the hospital’s leadership team, providing input and feedback on the strategic planning, budgeting, program development and quality improvement.
  • Represent the hospital in professional and community forums, such as conferences, workshops, committees, and coalitions, to enhance the hospital's reputation and network.
  • Act as liaison between guarantor and insurance providers and assist with insurance questions.
  • Participates in crisis interventions as needed, utilizing intervention techniques.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences, such as clients, families, staff, referral sources, media and public.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team of admissions and outreach professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Ability to use critical thinking skills to make sound decisions and resolve conflicts.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects, prioritize and delegate, and meet deadlines and goals.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed by the admissions and outreach demands.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of admissions and outreach in the behavioral health field.
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health treatment modalities, levels of care and best practices.
  • Knowledge of the state and federal regulations, accreditation standards and ethical codes related to admissions and outreach.
  • Knowledge of the community resources and referral sources for substance use disorder and co-occurring mental health services.
  • Knowledge of marketing and public relations strategies and techniques for the behavioral health field.
  • Skill in building and maintaining positive and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skill in analyzing and interpreting data and producing clear and accurate reports.
Educational Requirements:
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychiatric Nursing, or related health field, plus any combination or graduate studies in the above areas.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Valid license through the State of Texas in one or more of the following:  LPC, LCSW, LMSW, or RN.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a licensed clinician working with SED/NBD children or SMI/SUD adults is ideal, not required.
  • Ability to develop, organize, plan, and document clinical services; and ability to supervise clinical personnel.
  • Ability to maintain professional standards of conduct and effective working relationships with clients, parents, regulatory agencies, and other professionals.
