Director of Transportation (Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm)

Direct Hire Position

The Director of Transportation will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of transportation operations within the company. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in supply chain management, transportation planning, and warehouse operations. The successful candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional analytical abilities, and a proven record of accomplishment driving operational efficiency and cost savings.

• Develop and execute strategic plans for efficient transportation and logistics.
• Manage day-to-day transportation operations, including carrier selection and route optimization.
• Enhance supply chain processes, reducing lead times and improving performance.
• Collaborate with partners to streamline transportation processes and improve efficiency.
• Implement technology solutions to enhance visibility and tracking capabilities.
• Monitor KPIs (key performance indicators) to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards (DOT/OSHA/State/Federal Compliance).
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the transportation teams
• Create a pipeline of transportation leads and brokerage
• Knowledge of carrier procurement- RFP/biding/negotiation/contracts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field; master's degree preferred but not required
• 3-6 years of experience in transportation, supply chain management, and warehousing.
• Proven record of accomplishment of optimizing transportation networks and reducing costs.
• Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
• Deep understanding of transportation regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with warehouse management and transportation management systems.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
