Job Description

Quatrro Business Support Services is hiring an Assistant Vice President for a full-time position.

The Assistant Vice President provides oversight of direct reports and CFO services to non-profit organizations by executing contractual obligations including managing the full-cycle accounting functions of multiple clients such as financial statement preparation, cash management, grant management, budgeting, and audit preparation support. The Assistant Vice President also serves as a brand ambassador and thought-leader of Quatrro and helps initiate, maintain, and develop relationships.

The ideal candidate will have CFO experience in not-for-profit organizations such as public education, healthcare, and human services.
This position is local, local-remote, with the possibility of infrequent travel on-site to clients in the greater Chicago area.

Quatrro Business Support Services, a member of the Trivest portfolio of companies, is a leading provider of tech-enabled business process outsourcing services focused on finance & accounting and tech support.

The ideal candidate will have accounting/financial leadership experience in not-for-profit organizations in public education, healthcare, and human services.
This position is local, local-remote, with the possibility of infrequent travel on-site to clients in the greater Chicago area.


Direct Client Services (80%)

  1. Serves as the primary point of contact for assigned nonprofit clients, offering strategic financial advice and guidance to support their organizational objectives.
  2. Conducts thorough financial assessments for each client, analyzing budgets, cash flow, and financial statements to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.
  3. Collaborates with clients to develop comprehensive budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with their long-term goals and objectives.
  4. Oversees and supports the preparation and delivery of accurate and timely financial reports to clients.
  5. Delivers financial presentations to key client stakeholders such as the finance committee and board of directors.
  6. Provides insights and recommendations based upon key financial metrics and industry trends.
  7. Ensures client compliance with all relevant financial and funding regulations and reporting requirements by proactively identifying and addressing any potential compliance issues.
  8. Assesses and mitigates financial risks for clients by implementing effective strategies to safeguard their financial assets and investments.
  9. Evaluates and streamlines financial processes and procedures for clients, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Reviews and recommends cost saving measures and revenue generation strategies, including but not limited to recommending funding opportunities such as federal, state, and local government grants.
  11. Serves as subject matter expert and advisor on all client related accounting and financial matters including but not limited to the Code of Federal Regulations, indirect cost rates, allocation methodologies, and accounting standard updates (ASU’s).
  12. Fosters strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders at each client organization, serving as a trusted advisor and advocate.
  13. Addresses client concerns and ensures timely resolution.
Supervisory Responsibilities (15%):
  1. Oversees team deliverables and execution of contractual deliverables.
  2. Manages multiple direct reports and provides mentoring, training, and professional development.
  3. Reviews team performance and provides constructive feedback and signoff on individual development plans.

Other Duties and Responsibilities: (5%)
  1. Provides thought leadership through presentations on technical and management issues to organizations and prospective clients.
  2. Supports review and management of contract scope, pricing, and staffing to ensure financial profitability of assigned engagement(s).
  3. Engages and participates in the client’s community and mission through various means such as volunteer opportunities.
  4. Other duties as requested.

Extent of Public Duties:
  1. Serves as a representative of Quatrro as a “Thought-Leader” to various organizations within the industry and broader community, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions.
General Knowledge and Skills:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, ability to prioritize tasks, excellent interpersonal skills, advanced knowledge of industry-specific accounting software, advanced Excel skills, 10+ years of industry-specific experience, 10+ years of senior accounting experience (DOF/Controller/CFO/CAO), business acumen, and ability to communicate with key stakeholders and C-level executives.

Preferred: Master’s Degree, CPA, experience in people management, and experience in creating/implementing processes and efficiencies.

Desirable: Work experience in consulting and/or business process outsourcing (BPO). Accounting experience within NFP Healthcare, Education or Human Servces.

  1. Frequently serves as a representative of Quatrro as a “Thought leader” to various organizations within the industry and broader community, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions
  2. Continually serves as a representative of Quatrro to the clients, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions.


Industry Specific Matters (Preferred):

  1. Industry Experience: health and human service organizations or arts and culture organizations, with a preference for experience with housing, mental health, or general human service organizations.
  2. Grant Experience: federal grant administration/management experience preferred, State of Illinois grant administration / GATA experience desired


Physical demands: This position requires daily use of fingers, talking, sitting, listening, and vision. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to: computers and keyboards, calculators, writing utensils, and telephones. Employee must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Travel Requirements: This position predominantly operates remotely from a home office or at a local office at the employee’s discretion. Travel, while unlikely, may be required at the discretion of the Company. Required travel is typically local to client sites in Greater Chicago but may require travel out of state for periods of time.
