Compensation range for onsite WA applicants is $110,000 to $150,000. All applicants are welcome to apply.

What can I expect in this role?

AST is seeking a Product Manager to join our Technology and Product Team. The Product Manager position will play an active role in developing and maintaining AST’s product and market base. You will work cross functionally to contribute and execute AST’s strategic vision on products, services, and customer experiences. The Product Manager position will report to the Chief Technology Officer and is a full-time position that is located onsite in Tacoma, Washington.

What will I be doing?

  • Maintain current knowledge of changes in pharmaceutical/biotech business climate, markets, trends, new technology, competition, emerging customer needs, and changes in customer business strategies.
  • Identify high-value new product opportunities and ensure that products are aligned with customer needs and expectations and fit within AST’s Mission, Vision and Purpose.
  • Develop and maintain product strategies with realistic goals in support of AST’s overall market strategies and sales targets.
  • Making recommendations for capital expenditures and R&D projects necessary to achieve product and business goals.
  • Working with Project Managers, the Engineering Team, and the R&D Team on initiation, prioritization, and management of product development projects.
  • Working with the Marketing, Business Development, and Engineering Teams on the development and implementation of product launch plans, which may include marketing campaigns, internal training, service training, and literature development.
  • Working with Business Development and Sales Engineering to develop professional proposals for standard products. 
  • Working with Quality and Engineering departments on change controls, revisions, and updates to standard products.
  • Working with Supply Chain and Engineering departments on product costing structure and optimization of costs and features through value engineering.
  • Manage product specifications throughout the project execution cycle.
  • Develop and maintain customer relationships to actively understand the customers' growing needs.
  • Engage in industry organizations and standards committees.
  • Support Sales and Marketing where necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Willing to travel 25% or more as required.

What experience is AST looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field. MBA degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in product management roles, preferably with 2+ years in pharmaceutical industry with working knowledge of regulatory pharmaceutical requirements.
  • Specific knowledge and experience with design, manufacture, and integration of automated machinery.
  • Experience with 3D modeling. CFD, and Animation software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated history of strong business-related financial planning.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite. Salesforce or similar CRM experience preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and motivate others, with professional integrity.
  • Ability to change direction quickly and handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated history of making good business decisions.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, dependable, forthright, and thorough.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
  • Must be willing to take and successfully pass a drug test.
