We’re currently seeking qualified candidates for an Editorial Producer. This position is responsible for facilitating the output of editorial programs. From generating novel topic angles to coordinating recording sessions with talent to managing post-production processes, the editorial producer is central to all aspects of editorial broadcast content. Vetting strong content leads, growing a network of expert host/guest/agency contacts, coordinating studio sessions, researching topics, and encapsulating new content with descriptive writing are key aspects of the role.

With an ever-increasing volume and diversity of competitive content offerings in the health education market, the lifecycle of today’s content requires fresh and innovative production approaches from conceptualization to publication. Successful applicants will therefore demonstrate strong aptitude for working creatively and collaboratively with operations staff, production engineers, content developers and editors, marketers, and subject matter experts representing a broad range of medical specialty interests.

What a day in the life of a ReachMD Editorial Producer looks like:

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Independently sourcing and researching creative topic leads
  • Managing concurrent programs independently with occasional supervision and direction
  • Gathering medical news, information, and stories to inform/advise editorial teams
  • Vetting, recruiting, and maintaining editorial talent (e.g. hosts and correspondents) with unique specialty backgrounds and subject matters of interest
  • Coordinating studio production calendars for editorial talent
  • Managing recording sessions
  • Ensuring that all ReachMD media productions meet topical and educational objectives
  • Staying up to date on current and emerging standards of journalistic, academic, and broadcasting communications
  • Monitoring user behaviors and making data-driven content production recommendations
  • Ensuring timely coordination of post-production deliverables for editorial projects
  • Proactively seeking opportunities to engage target audiences
  • Monitoring fiscal health of editorial project budgets

What we expect from qualified candidates:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or Health Sciences or related area preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrate a firm understanding of editorial programming strategy, project management, and facilitative tools & processes
  • Experience in communications and/or project management
  • Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Have a strong interest in the medical field and healthcare professional education
  • Maintain excellent attention to detail
  • Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Understand content strategies and trends that will guide engagement
  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities
  • Be flexible and independent while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Communicate effectively with staff, talent, and strategic partners
  • Demonstrate proficiency in creating and adhering to timelines and budgets
  • Be able to travel and work extended hours as needed
  • Be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
