Chief Medical Officer

The Chief Medical Officer will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, provide oversight for all providers and lead the clinical quality and performance team. They will advise CEO and Board of Directors on a broad range of clinical quality initiatives, clinical policy, and strategic issues required to achieve the short and long-term objectives of HealthyU Clinics.

Leadership Responsibilities:

• Manages and leads team of Medical Directors for multiple specialties
• Leads the clinical quality and performance team with a focus on Value Based Care
• Works in collaboration with CEO to develop and implement strategic goals and build a cohesive culture within the organization
• In collaboration with the People team, oversees provider recruitment, selection, and training
• Provides guidance and oversight for mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures as HealthyU grows

Functional Responsibilities:

• Defines standards and drives performance for value-based-care metrics guided by the quadruple aim of improved clinical outcomes, increased patient experience, enhanced team member experience and reduction of overall cost of care.
• Helps develop and implement clinical policies and procedures based on evidence-based-medicine guidelines.
• Ensures that peer review processes are consistently followed by all HealthyU Clinics providers.
• Develops and tracks clinical team KPI’s including utilization, patient experience, clinical compliance, quality metrics, timely documentation and coding accuracy.
• Provide oversight, guidance, leadership, and direction to staff to ensure that workflow, personnel concerns, and other organizational issues are tended to and followed up on.
• Maintains clinical practice for at least 1 day per week.
• Develops and maintains external relationships within the healtcare community in markets where HealthyU operates.

Education and Experience:

• Board Certified in Family Medicine / Internal Medicine
• 5+ years of direct patient care experience
• Experience in practicing / leading value-based-care.
• 2+ years of experience as a physician leader, preferably as CMO or Sr. Medical Director for a multi-specialty medical group.
• Graduate of a medical school approved by the council of Medical Education and American Board of Family Medicine or American Board of Internal Medicine
• Master's in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration highly preferred
• State Licensure Required, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Licensure Required, Current CPR Certification required (ACLS preferred), Must be able to meet and maintain HealthyU Clinics credentialing and privileging requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Travel up to 20% of the time.
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
• Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization’s physical premises.
