We have an exciting opportunity for a Color & Application Specialist at our Woodridge, IL facility.

• Complete responsibility of color management practices throughout the enterprise (Woodridge, Las Vegas, Charlotte, Canada + any additional facilities added in the future)
  1. Maintain G7 certification for the enterprise.
  2. Management of RIP software, Print Factory, and establish best practices for the enterprise. Documents and maintains SOP for these subject matters.
  3. Create and maintain vibrant, G7, high-quality profiles:
     • Build pre-matched Pantone libraries for all color profiles
     • Keep output consistent and repeatable between printers and facilities
  4. FabriVu340i output similar across Las Vegas, Woodridge & Canada
  5. Durst P5 iSub output similar across Woodridge & Las Vegas
  6. Q5r output similar across Woodridge & Las Vegas
  7. Evaluate any customer complaints regarding color each month and look for opportunities for improvement.
  8. Works to reduce waste through process improvements reduce material waste, specifically with better color practices and auto-nesting.
• Establish opportunities for workflow improvement in Print Factory and work in conjunction with IT graphics support:
  1. Auto-nesting rolls
  2. Ink saving opportunities within the RIP
  3. Building automated workflows (Preflight software > Print Factory > Printer) without manual touchpoints
• Work closely with IT to maintain computers utilized for RIP Print Factory in all facilities.
• Research & Development related to new substrates and color:
  1. Works closely with Vice Presidents of Operations and OVC Brands (SEG, Fabric Images, Orbus) to understand opportunities for improvements on materials.
  2. Works with Graphics Purchasing Manager to test all new materials from print process, color management, finishing, etc.
  3. Knowledgeable regarding industry trends and opportunities for new materials, applications that could benefit the various OVC Brands.
  4. Research cutting-edge graphics technologies (hardware & software) with OVC Graphics Leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience with large-format printer equipment and a solid knowledge of UV printing processes, heat press & dye-sublimation printing.
• Experience with color management & color profiling, G7 experience a plus.
• Experience with the following programs: Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, RIP software such as Print Factory, Caldera, Ergosoft, Fiery and pre-production software such as T-flow or Callas PDF Toolbox.
• Experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment.
• Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.
• College BA degree in Graphic Arts, Print Production or Business Management.
