This role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with a successful leader in clean energy and climate policy. You’ll be providing personalized support for her work and home life, acting as a point of contact to ensure her day-to-day operations run smoothly. The scope of work is wide-ranging, you will take responsibility for:
· Calendar management, protecting time effectively; managing meetings by providing context and notes in advance; handling scheduling conflicts appropriately; managing travel schedule.
· Managing extensive correspondence and emails, identifying urgent and non-urgent matters, and handling journalism, writing, and speaking requests with a high standard of professionalism and accuracy.
· Preparing and organizing materials for meetings, presentations, and events, ensuring all necessary documentation and information are readily available.
· Writing including background research in support of policy reports, academic papers, and public-facing writing. Collecting, compiling, and analyzing moderately complex data and information for inclusion in reports and presentation materials.
· Accounting work, ensuring invoices are sent, reimbursements are completed, and budgets are tracked and managed effectively.
· Providing professional interactions with an extensive range of external stakeholders, fostering positive working relationships.
· Travel support for regular domestic travel including work and personal.
· Researching and preparing grant proposals and grant reports.
· Updating websites on Squarespace and tracking a significant number of ongoing items in spreadsheets.
· Optional, but a plus: Managing social media accounts including editing videos and creating images, content planning, reposting across platforms, and monitoring post comments.

· Exceptional attention to detail while working at a fast pace.
· Highly organized in all matters including time management and budgeting, able to exercise independent leadership, and prioritize multiple tasks.
· Anticipates deliverables for upcoming milestones and is prepared with information.
· Clear and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent writing, editing, and proof-reading skills, comfortable working across a range of content.
· Takes initiative and works independently to see tasks through to completion on routine as well as more complex matters whilst exercising sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality in all matters.
· A demonstrated ability to manage multiple time sensitive activities with calmness, deliberation, and resilience.
· Ability to work effectively under pressure whilst remaining flexible and positive, embracing change, and managing expectations in ambiguous or challenging situations.
· High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and anticipate needs in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications:
· 3+ years of administrative experience, including calendar management and budgeting.
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
· Basic knowledge of climate and energy issues.

· Pay Rate/Range: $32-36/hour
· Working Days/Hours: 20-40 hours per week
· Remote work possible. Based in southern California broadly, or Santa Barbara specifically, a plus.
· Contract role.
