Position: Accounts Payable Specialist

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Basic summary of the job: Responsible for processing the company's payables from entry to payment.

Essential (primary) functions include but are not limited to:

• Accounts Payable - Match, vouch documents and generate vendor checks

Work with various departments to ensure proper disposition and coding of payments
Handling payments in an organized and timely manner
Periodic reconciliation of unmatched receivers
Internal credit card reconciliation when required
Determine proper disposition of invoiced sales and use tax
Imaging of invoices and supporting documents into our electronic filing system
Assisting with audit support as necessary
Identify opportunities to improve the accounts payable process
Work cross functionally with others to resolve account issues when necessary
Expense report coding and processing.
Adhere to the Quality Policy at all times.

Secondary functions include but are not limited to:

• Back up receptionist and answer / route overflow calls

• Relieve receptionist for lunch and breaks

• Review for accuracy orders keyed into the system by data entry personnel

• Cross train in various duties within the department (Cash Management, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Material Allocations)

Requirements

Required education/work experience:

High School Diploma or GED
3 years general accounting experience and/or 2-year Accounting Degree

Necessary (required) skills:

Basic understanding of accounting concepts
10-Key, data entry and typing of 40 wpm desired
Proficient using Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)

• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Must be detail oriented

• Will to be a productive team player in a cooperative office environment
