Job Description

Job Overview:

The Library Services Specialist performs a variety of duties in support of our corporate client’s library and content management needs, including fulfilling document requests, collection maintenance and responding to tier 1 reference questions from customers. The ideal candidate is a nimble learner, detail oriented, customer focused and enjoys collaborating with others to achieve shared objectives. This corporate position is located near downtown Indianapolis and free parking is provided.

This onsite, hybrid, position is located near downtown Indianapolis at our client’s corporate offices.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support maintenance of RightFind Enterprise; fulfill document requests electronically and scanning copies, as needed, for delivery to end users.
  • Monitor the library email account (s); answer customer questions, escalate and triage appropriately
  • Support copyright permission requests, gathering information from end users and escalating questions to library management
  • Support maintenance of the client’s copyright FAQs and copyright compliance SharePoint site
  • Maintain the library and team collaboration website by updating library resource pages with new materials, links, and other edits as needed
  • Remain current on RightFind Enterprise, participating in training as needed and required
  • Support Standards requests and related questions, documenting details, creating work orders and locating standards to fulfill client needs.
  • Update relevant existing SOPs and procedures for various functions and support provided.
  • Support library collection management: working with the Content Portfolio Specialist and publishers to maintain e-journals and print collection information; adding and deleting records, updating details for accuracy within RightFind Enterprise
  • Maintain the onsite library collection, re-shelving content, and cataloging new materials to add to the library holdings; create ad hoc reporting as needed to support collection maintenance
  • Escalate content access issues, contacting publishers or informing the Content Portfolio Specialist for proper resolution
  • Support IP maintenance project
  • Create new postings for the library on the client’s internal social media sites
  • Maintain library users in the client’s database, verifying activity, adding, and removing users, as needed
  • Support proper and timely escalation of issues to the library sponsor or management as needed
  • May be accountable for other results and activities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years customer service, file room, records management; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel), SharePoint and Internet navigation
  • Strong, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with office equipment (i.e., copier, scanner, etc.)
  • Alpha-numeric data entry experience desired
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend and reach for filing, lift up to 40 lbs. and walk 1/4 mile between libraries up to twice per day and from parking lot to facility
  • Must be able to work in the vicinity of Vancomycin and Penicillin
  • Will be required to pass drug screen and background check
