Functional Description:


DDG is seeking an Enlisted College Distance Education Program (ECDEP) curriculum SME to support the U.S. Marine Corps College of Distance Education and Training (CDET) in Quantico Virginia. This position will support development of onsite and online distance education curriculum for Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) and Staff Non-Commissioned Officer (SNCO) Professional Military Education (PME).


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adapt resident curriculum into distance education curriculum using Bloom’s taxonomy and the CDET curriculum development process in accordance with Student Learning Outcomes approved by the Commanding General (CG), Education Command (EDCOM)
  • Coordinate with MCU College of Enlisted Military Education Course Directors to ensure currency of course content materials prior to curriculum development
  • Revise and update courseware, including all assessments and faculty development materials according to CDET’s course development schedules
  • Create and safeguard course assessments, answer keys, and reference keys electronically
  • Develop and maintain electronic exam-mapping products demonstrating appropriate linkages between issues for discussion and specific educational objectives and learning outcomes; and assessments and specific educational objectives and learning outcomes
  • Maintain electronic files and version control of all courseware, curriculum and assessments to include documents, graphics, readings, electronic media and supporting information for assigned course(s)
  • Conduct research for appropriate video/audio clips and photographs from the Marine Corps Audio/Visual (A/V) Repository and other Marine Corps agencies and gather/create electronic multimedia assets in coordination with Instructional Systems Specialists (ISS) and Graphic Artists
  • Maintain and manage the master LSS course sites
  • Answer questions from the field on all aspects of the courses
  • Support Faculty Development by developing recommendations for faculty standards unique to respective courses, and developing, updating and managing course LSS FD sites and course faculty guides
  • Conduct thorough reviews of deliverables for content accuracy, participate in onsite reviews and provide electronic feedback to the Dean of Academics
  • Maintain courseware materials active on MarineNet, perform annual reviews to maintain quality and accuracy of assigned course(s), and coordinate with the CDET MarineNet officer to ensure courses meet technical requirements for MarineNet delivery
  • Support Institutional Effectiveness/Institutional Research (IE/IR) analysis and Course Content Review Board (CCRB) execution for assigned course(s)
  • Participate in annual MCU faculty development sessions

Required Experience:

  • Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) experience (active duty or reserve)
  • Professional Military Education: U. S. Marine Corps Advance Course graduate (resident or distance education)
  • Faculty experience, preferably using the Socratic method and with military PME programs/courses
  • Curriculum development experience

Desired Experience:

  • Experience in Maneuver, Fires or Logistics Military Occupational Specialties (MOS)
  • Experience with the Marine Corps Planning Process (MCPP)
  • Professional Military Education.
Senior Enlisted Professional Military Education (SEPME) graduate Career or Intermediate level school (CLS/ILS) graduate (resident or distance education)
  • Experience with Learning Support Systems (LSS, e.g., Moodle)

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required
  • BA/BS from an accredited college desired
