Hatcher is excited to welcome interns to join our multimedia team during Summer 2024. The Hatcher Intern Program is designed to provide college students and recent graduates with an opportunity to collaborate on strategic initiatives, contribute to research projects, and learn project management skills. Interns will also participate in professional development and networking events powered by Hatcher's dynamic team.

The Multimedia team seeks students who are ready and willing to learn, while enhancing their video production and short form content creation skills to consistently deliver quality work. The ideal candidate will have passion for their field of study and a strong desire to contribute to Hatcher's work supporting nonprofits, foundations, government agencies, and other mission-driven organizations to educate and motivate people through powerful marketing and communications. Interns are expected to be well-organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task, while being team players. College students graduating in 2024 and 2025 are encouraged to apply.

All candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance to our Bethesda headquarters location for in-person collaboration on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Additional Details:

  • Program dates: June 3 - July 26, 2024
  • Hourly wage: $20/hr.
  • Hours: Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.; Friday 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Media management, including organizing and maintaining a video asset library
  • Develop marketing templates for short form and animated content for social platforms
  • Provide production assistance on film shoots
  • Aid with pre-production planning and logistics
  • Assist with editing, reviewing, and researching b-roll, editing short social media pieces, etc.
  • Generate transcriptions and review for accuracy
  • Other production related tasks as intern interest or client demands dictate


Qualifications and Skills:
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically editing workflows within Premiere
  • Previous experience with content editing tools including Canva, CapCut, and Adobe Spark
  • Proficiency in After Effects a plus
  • Willingness and eagerness to learn and tackle a variety of production tasks with a positive attitude and creative problem solving.
  • Strong writing skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office& Teams
  • Effectiveverbal and writtencommunication skills
  • Ability to take direction, work efficiently with a team, and adhere to tight deadlines
