Panagora is seeking a communications associate for a full-time position as part of our home office team. The position is hybrid (the communications team currently works from the office two days a week) and is based in Silver Spring, MD. The associate will report to the senior manager of internal communications and, working closely with the other members of the team, be a key part of implementing Panagora's multifaceted corporate communications strategy. The position requires someone with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to self-manage and prioritize. The ideal candidate is well organized; a strong writer; has graphic design skills; and is excited to work for a successful small business and grow a career in communications for international development.

Staff who reside in the DC/MD/VA area are strongly encouraged to work from the office on those days.

Responsibilities
- Manage social media platforms (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook) to schedule posts, manage campaigns, monitor various conversations and accounts, and track analytics
- Help write and edit content for social media, Panagora's website, external messaging, and internal documents as needed
- Keep the Panagora website (WordPress) up to date with new content, data, and messaging
- Support document production tasks (i.e., desktop publishing), ensuring formatting, writing style, and overall quality
- Produce and edit basic graphic design elements (experience with Adobe software and/or Canva is preferred)
- Provide support for internal and external events and meetings, including managing interactive elements in Zoom and Microsoft Teams such as breakout groups and polls
- Track memberships, conferences, and award opportunities
- Complete other tasks related to corporate communications as needed, including supporting the internal communications manager
- BA/BS or MA/MS degree (communications, journalism or international development preferred. Two years of experience in communications for international development preferred
- Excellent writing skills, including proven ability to write engaging stories and posts for the web and social media
- Basic graphic design skills preferred. Proficiency with Canva.com and/or Adobe software a plus
- Strong organizational skills, a knack for creative problem-solving, and attention to detail
