Job Description

Position Location: Roseville, CA- In-Person Position


Summary: The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing payroll, maintaining time keeping records, creating and reviewing payroll reports for accuracy, and resolving payroll issues according to compliance with company and regulatory standards.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Will process payroll for assigned branches

• Will perform applicable audits as assigned including special payroll requests and final paychecks (refer to unused deduction report and deferred compensation spreadsheet when processing payroll/manual checks)

• Process all necessary entries for deferred compensation as elected for each payroll

• Paycheck Distribution for all assigned branches

• Double check/enter HR Payroll related new hire information into ADP

• Process any needed deductions from unused deductions report for assigned branches at payroll time as applicable

• CompenSafe

o Daily Journaling of Branch Commission Expenses

o Schedule Maintenance

• Backup to other Payroll Specialists

• Involved in employee leave discussions before departure for all assigned branches.

• Applicable Payroll Filing (including preparation of assigned payroll branch folders)

• Send Earnings Report to applicable assigned branches at the end of each month

• Research applicable state payroll rules and regulations for each new state being added to APMC

• Process Employee Change forms for assigned branches as needed

• Yearly Withholding Compliance notice distribution companywide as applicable (Exempt W-4 filers)

• Keep checklists relative to your job duties up to date

• Handle the Payroll related integration processes/training of payroll submittal for all new branches coming onboard as assigned.

• Train internal Payroll Staff as needed

• Filing as needed

• Other duties as assigned

Education &

Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalent

• A degree in accounting, business, or a related field, preferred

• At least three (3) years’ experience working in payroll or a similar role.

• Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and payroll practices.
