The Mentoring Recruitment and Retention Specialist – Community Engagement & Support Services works under the direction of the Mentoring Coordinator. The Mentoring Recruitment and Retention Specialist possesses knowledge of prevention theories, youth development and cultural competence in their relation to mentoring. Knowledge of health issues that affect youth and the larger community preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills required. Strong interpersonal skills required. Valid driver’s license and own transportation required. Ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed. Solid computer skills required. Experience with web-blogging and social media outlets highly preferred. Experience with mentoring services preferred.
The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services, education, psychology, social work, or related field required. Three years’ work experience can substitute for educational requirement. Minimum two years related work experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills required.
This is a full time position located in Central Massachusetts and will include community-based travel and implementation. Bilingual/bicultural candidates are encouraged to apply.
