Dominion DMS is looking for a talented and experienced UI/UX Designer to work closely with the product owners and other key leaders to design and develop the UI for our enterprise-level Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. A primary mission of this position is to be a driving force behind creating consistency in our DominionVUE UI; not just from the standpoint of “look and feel” but function as well. You will be expected to contribute new ways of thinking and offer modern solutions that solve complex user experience challenges. While teamwork is of the utmost importance, you can also work independently with minimal supervision, and take the initiative to constantly keep yourself engaged. You never settle for second best. You possess a strong focus on quality and attention to detail and display the ability to quickly understand and solve unique and even undocumented problems. Naturally curious, you have a penchant for and drive to quickly learn and master skills in new technologies.

As part of the DMS team, you have a unique opportunity to join an exciting, dynamic and closely-interactive group of people, whose focus is to power the tools that run car dealerships and create robust browser-based user interface functionality, using the latest developments in front-end technology. This position will be responsible for working with interaction architects and other front end engineers to implement the web experience.

Your Role
  • Collaborate with other UX/UI designers and front end developers to manage and deploy our design system and component library using Storybook and Figma.
  • Attend daily stand-up and the occasional meeting that occurs during the week.
  • Contribute to and maintain intranet applications used by the Client Services team.
  • Identify and troubleshoot UX related problems.
  • Translate enhancement and feature requests into design mockups and prototypes.
  • Work within established patterns and in some cases define new UX/UI pattern libraries.
  • Partner with stakeholders and peers to ensure user considerations influence the UX/UI designs intended for current and future product releases. 
  • Collaborate with the team to continuously improve our products and processes.
  • Other duties related to the development and operation of our systems.
Skills
  • Understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability
  • Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for design and development
  • Ability to bring order to unstructured problems and turn complex information into user-centric UI design
  • Knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3 a plus
  • Strong communication skills and ability to clearly articulate and defend your design decisions
  • Team player who is comfortable checking others' work and being peer-reviewed, as well as sharing knowledge with team members as needed
  • Ability to meet and gather requirements from customers if needed
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to self-direct when needed
  • Sense of humor and a good attitude
Qualifications and Experience
  • Hands-on experience constructing wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity designs
  • Experience creating simple, usable experiences within a complex systems that leverage large amounts of data but provide simple, intuitive interfaces
  • Experience with Figma and Adobe CC applications
  • Experience delivering work using a design system as well as contributing to design systems
  • Experience with user testing methodology and interviews is a strong plus.
  • Ability to productively collaborate with project stakeholders and teams that are both local and geographically distributed. 
  • Knowledge of the Agile development process a strong plus
  • 3+ years of experience as a user experience/user interface designer; preferably for enterprise platforms
  • 3 years of experience working with responsive design patterns
Education
  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience as a UX Designer
    • URL samples and/or a Web project portfolio demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions and delivering work within an established design system is required
This role offers a compensation of approximately $83,000 - $85,000/annually. Compensation factors include geography, experience, education, job demands, job market, etc.  Additional benefits for full-time employees include medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account; 401k, matching up to 4% fully vested on day one of employment; paid vacation, company holidays and sick leave; corporate discount opportunities.  This job posting will stay open until the position is filled or deemed to be no longer necessary.
