Founded in 2002, Operation Homefront is a national nonprofit organization whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive, not simply struggle to get by, in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. Operation Homefront is sourcing candidates for a Program Manager position in the Nashville, TN area.

The Program Manager manages program development and community events for designated Operation Homefront Region. This position plans, coordinates, organizes and oversees program implementation and evaluation and creates and coordinates outreach events to military families and units.

Desired candidates will have:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Project Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 3 years experience in non-profit event coordination and with social programs preferred.
  • Experience with military families and programs preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Primary job duties include:
  • Plans and coordinates all program and community events in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Assists with planning, coordinating and facilitating all program related special and activities benefitting client services in the community.
  • Evaluates and develops local programs to meet the needs of the local community.
  • Manages the procurement and distribution of in-kind inventory, ensuring items are available to meet local needs and documents are provided to the Field Office in a timely manner. Includes in-kind inventory for Field Office
  • Ensures accurate record keeping for all morale program cases in accordance with Operation Homefront’s Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Develops and grows community relationships with clients, service providers, volunteers, military organizations or representatives, and all posts, armories, and bases in the area.
  • Researches funding opportunities, compiles donor information and assists with grant writing and applications to gain sponsorship and donations.
  • Cultivates assigned pipeline of donors and creates new donor relationships.
  • Coordinates with caseworkers to ensure local support is provided to clients, to include recruiting volunteers for local moves, meeting local furniture needs, identifying service providers for repair work and coordinating local resources.
  • Conducts social media outreach coordinating media relations with field operations and public relations for program special events.
  • Schedules visits to military hospitals, VA hospitals, military bases, posts and armories to share information about the services available.
  • Organizes and maintains volunteer program, assignments, recruitment, training and retention.
  • Conducts presentations to service organizations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Other Details:

General office and sedentary. Use of personal computing equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer and calculator. Manual dexterity, ability to lift up to 10 pounds. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events to include overnight travel. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
