Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION 
Progressive audiovisual staging and service company seeks a sales professional to identify and
develop new accounts matched to our group of services. Our scope of services includes
comprehensive AV staging and presentation solutions for corporate, social, live entertainment,
convention, and show management.

An outgoing personality, industry knowledge and strong consultative selling skills with a sincere
focus on customer service are preferred. Candidate must understand how comprehensive
sound, lighting, and video solutions can be applied to support client objectives; and be
comfortable engaging across diverse industry sectors including advertising/marketing/PR firms,
corporate/association meetings events, AV production, concerts, social galas events and
convention/tradeshows.


Travel for client meetings, appointments and events m necessary. Some nights and weekends
will be involved. Current sales position in AV staging/services, event production, hotel or
upscale hospitality environment, preferred.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Requirements: Ideal candidate should possess knowledge of audiovisual services within the
event production industry. A minimum of two years of direct sales/sales consulting experience
and production background is preferred.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Build an intimate understanding of Sound Investments products services and their place in the industry to provide on-target solutions
• Identify, cultivate and close strategic new business opportunities from individuals or organizations
• Make cold calls to potential clients, perform pitch presentations to industry professionals, create
• RFP proposals, and close accounts
• Attend networking events as assigned
• Manage multiple projects/accounts
• Work with internal production/project managers to achieve event execution
• Maintain overall quality control over event execution to ensure client satisfaction
• Work with internal account management to ensure proper billing
• Develop and execute sales strategy in a dynamic small team environment
• Remain up-to-date on competitive business through trade publications, online articles, and other sources
• Ensure Company standards, policies and procedures are maintained
• Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding sales & marketing performance and metrics

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS
• Prior experience selling events/event production to major accounts
• Previous production experience and/or familiarity with event production terminology
• Self-starter that can thrive in both a corporate and start-up type environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Knowledge of industry trends and technologies
• Strong ability to collaborate and coordinate
• Professional maturity, integrity, discipline and a positive attitude
• Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Exceptional presentation skills
• Ability to manage the successful execution of a sales strategy
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Willingness to travel and work overtime, on weekends and on short notice when necessary


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 3 years in event production/design sales, sales management, account management or assistant account executive
• Strong experience with MS Office Suite, PowerPoint, and Mac-based Keynote for presentations
• Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience (3-5yrs)
• Ability to create strong contacts in the Social, Business Meetings/ Events and Trade Show industries

COMPENSATION
A comprehensive compensation package including salary, commissions, medical and dental
insurance, vacation and holidays will be offered.
