Position Summary

The Sales & Marketing Specialist works closely with Member Experience, Sales and Finance teams supporting sales/marketing and business development efforts, including sales tracking; creation of persuasive presentations and marketing materials; and maintenance of database systems and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools to promote overall efficiency and effectiveness. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Sales Support: Provides general business development support to facilitate customer and prospect contact by Account Executives including tracking sales leads, coordinating quotes, contract and invoice generation, and administration of CRM (Salesforce). This position will contribute to creating and maintaining good customer relationships and ensuring smooth sales team operations.
  • Business Development: Contributes to company marketing process improvements to support efficiency and overall sales and member acquisition effectiveness. Provides planning support for trade shows to maximize presence and investment. Researches, analyzes, and identifies sales leads from various sources based on Sales team initiatives.
  • Product Marketing: Manages process, collaborates and assists in creating content and messaging, and maintains well-organized, up-to-date product marketing materials that reflect product value, strengths, and client benefits.
  • Marketing: Initiates, manages, and executes multi-channel marketing campaigns leveraging SEO, social media, inbound marketing, eBlasts, mail/print campaigns, and events to drive database customers and new member acquisition. Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including sales, member services, graphic design, and database services, to develop content for targeted campaigns and messaging that resonates with both existing and new customer/member bases.

The ideal candidate has a general knowledge of sales and marketing best practices, able to interpret sales metrics and be goal oriented. It is expected they perform well in a team environment and have exceptional people skills. The ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and initiative is required.

This position will work closely with the Senior Manager, Member & Product Marketing, Manager, Finance and Graphic Designer and Account Executives and should be comfortable interacting with Executive leaders.

Major Responsibilities

The essential functions and major duties of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Generate quotes, invoices and contract agreements for product and membership for new prospects and upsales to existing customers.
  • Process new sales including supporting Finance Manager for quotes, invoicing and payment records.
  • Serve as Administrator for Salesforce CRM.
  • Serve as Administrator for Outreach engagement platform.
  • Execute targeted marketing programs and campaigns to support member recruitment and retention, sales of NCPDP products and services.
  • Manage lead generation activities, tracking results and evaluating return on investment for various strategies, as needed.
  • Develop content marketing and messaging strategy; write, edit, and promote educational content for print, electronic, multimedia, web and social media formats for products and member recruitment and retention.
  • Coordinate with the communications, marketing, sales, and IIT departments to manage the overall online customer experience and enhance the company’s competitive product positioning via SEO, website optimization techniques and social media applications.
  • Occasional travel to Quarterly Work Group Meetings may be required.
  • From time to time this position may perform other duties that may be assigned by the President & CEO or any other member of the Executive Team.

Organizational Relationships

The President and CEO or the COO of NCPDP may require, during peak periods or when staff resources are limited, to redirect staff to share duties and responsibilities of others.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or marketing, is preferred. Experience in healthcare marketing and delivery is preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in sales support, marketing, communications, product marketing, and/or other related business experience. Knowledge of finance and or basic accounting is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations.
  • Innovative and willing to take risks. You are not okay with the status quo and bring new ideas to the table.
  • Good attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to form solid relationships with team members in the technical, sales, creative, and business worlds.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Passion for marketing and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems, such as Salesforce, a plus.
  • Ability to articulate needs for process improvements.

This position is full-time. The position will reside at NCPDP’s headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona. NCPDP offers a hybrid 37.5-hour schedule working from home Mondays, in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and working from home on Fridays.
