Job Description: Social Media and Marketing Manager

Reports To: Director of Sales & Marketing

Position Overview:

The Social Media and Marketing Manager oversees The Pierre’s interactions with the public through implementing content strategies on social media platforms and in marketing the hotel both internally and externally. This position provides marketing intelligence to support informed decisions that will result in an increase in The Pierre’s overall revenues and maximizes profitability. Duties include analyzing engagement data, identifying trends in customer interactions and planning digital campaigns to build community online.

Job Function, Tasks and Responsibilities:

Social Media Responsibilities

  • Regularly post text, video and images that engage the company’s target market, follow online conversations on a company’s social media accounts and solve customer concerns using social media platforms.
  • Develop and manage a monthly social media calendar to keep the hotel relevant and engage and cultivate followers.
  • Assist in developing social media marketing campaigns to support the hotel’s brand identity and vision.
  • Interact with customers and other stakeholders via the company’s social media accounts on an ongoing basis.
  • Analyze the company’s digital marketing plan and social media strategy, identifying strategic weaknesses and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Research social media trends and inform management of changes that are relevant to the company’s marketing activities
  • Set key performance indicators (KPIs) for social media campaigns, including number of shares or likes and engagement metrics to measure a campaign’s performance.


Marketing Responsibilities

  • Support the Director of Marketing in creating brand promotions and campaigns.
  • Partner with Hotel Operations to conceptualize and execute events, programming, and activations, according to brand guidelines.
  • Partner with the Sales & Catering teams to develop and execute promotional strategy on partner websites.
  • Conduct quarterly checks on partner websites to ensure content is optimized.
  • Run, review, and analyze key reports; provide monthly analytics and share insights.
  • Manage internal and external partner content creation at the property level.
  • Support the Director of Marketing in managing the Hotel’s digital agency relationship including content creation, website maintenance and EDM deployment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • College degree or equivalent.
  • Communication: Great verbal and written communication skills. Ability to interact with writers, designers, developers and customers and report to senior management personnel. Ability to identify social media events such as an interesting hashtag or a sensitive topic and share appropriate content that aligns with the company’s social media strategy.
  • Creativity: Ability to craft engaging content and align it with customer trends and market changes to interest and engage people.
  • Technology: Must be skilled in using social media platforms and in using tools that analyze social media platforms. Ability to use digital technologies to meet the goals of social media campaigns.
  • Research: Skilled in learning social media trends, identifying new social media tools and finding real-time online conversations are key requirements. Must have an understanding of the trends and techniques of social media as well as the company’s online presence to effectively handle social media marketing.
  • Time management: Ability to organize tasks to meet deadlines is essential for this professional role.
