Job Summary:The Senior Associate in the Tax department is responsible for working with a team of dedicated professionals delivering excellent tax service to our clients. This is a non-exempt, hourly position elgible for overtime.Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Help train new associates.
  • Master technology to perform assigned tasks and manage workflow.
  • Participate in non-traditional engagements with accountants, attorneys and other staff as assigned.
  • Participate in tax planning.
  • Prepare income tax return forms for individuals and businesses such as Partnerships, C-Corp, S-Corp., LLP, LLC, Estates and Trusts.
  • Review financial records, such as prior tax return forms, income statements, and expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare return.
  • Understand and embrace a culture of privacy and excellent client service.
  • Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
Education and Experience:Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with at least 2 classes in taxation, or equivalent course work with a bachelor’s degree in another subject.
  • Qualified to sit for the CPA exams.
  • Two to three years of experience in tax preparation of individual, pass-through entity, and corporate returns.
Preferred:
  • Competence with UltraTax, Go Systems, or other tax preparation software.
  • CPA license.
  • Master’s degree in Taxation.

  • Emotional intelligence and empathy in dealing with colleagues and clients.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Humility in receiving instruction and correction.
  • Paperless office experience preferred.
  • Passion for learning.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
