Job Description

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Successful collaboration with cross-functional teams to design and develop desktop and web applications that align with product requirements.

Front-end web development using Typescript and Angular

Maintain and expand desktop application written in Python using PyQt

Developing software applications across multiple platforms and stacks including Windows, Linux, and Web.

Lead the development of features from concept to deployment, ensuring code quality through testing and code reviews.

Integration of 3rd party APIs and data sources

Maintain a consistent UI styling across the application

Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in our software development practices.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE SHOULD COME TO US WITH:

Proven experience (at least 5 years or more) in software development, with experience on desktop and server-side application development

Ability to work independently to create features that meet customer needs and comfortable with shifting priorities. Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to stakeholders

Ability to maintain and expand an existing codebase and manage all levels of development

Ability to translate non-technical feature requests into functional software

Knowledge of modern web development with Typescript and Angular experience

Willing to work with multiple languages and technology stacks to maintain server, web and desktop applications (Python and Typescript) including deployment strategies and best practices

Working knowledge of SQL databases required, preferably PostgreSQL

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Background in 3D graphics, Qt framework, and GIS programming a plus

Familiarity with maintaining dependencies, updates for security vulnerabilities, and packaging into deployable Docker containers a plus

Experience with cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes and Amazon Web Services, and military deployments a plus

A master's degree in software engineering or a related field preferred
