Job Description

PLC Programmer

Responsible for designing, implementing, and testing various PLC systems according to client specifications while implementing techniques to optimize and create efficiencies. This position will collaborate with multiple teams to integrate software and complete testing to ensure functionality.

Responsibilities:

Develop and modify PLC systems, meeting client specifications and project deadlines.
Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues ensuring the smooth operation of the systems.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with hardware components and external devices.
Conduct rigorous testing and debugging to ensure reliability and functionality.
Introduce programming improvements in controls and logic systems that are consistent with customer changes or manufacturing requirements.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients during the implementation and deployment phases.
Document system design, development processes, and user manuals for future reference.
Stay up-to-date with the latest PLC techniques; attend conferences and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills; conduct research and share finding with the team.
Assist in the development and testing of PLC applications under the guidance of senior developers.
Participate in cross-functional design and implementation discussions to contribute ideas and insights.
Assist in the preparation of documentation, including software requirements and test plans.

Qualifications:

BS in Engineering or Computer Science or comparable years of experience with PLC programming
Proficient programming skills in PLC programming languages
Experience with LabVIEW is a plus
Experience designing and engineering controls systems for machine automation
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Ability to analyze complex technical problems and provide efficient solutions
Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills
