Job Summary: 

The Platform Engineer will report to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO).  As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and managing our cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security for our applications. Collaborate with the development team to develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate infrastructure provisioning, and enhance monitoring and alerting systems, facilitating efficient software delivery. This position will require you to utilize your expertise in cloud resource optimization, microservices orchestration, and DevOps principles to shape our platform's future, contributing to our company's success in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. 

Duties: 

• Design, implement, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure solutions. 
• Collaborate with development teams to establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines. 
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts and configurations. 
• Manage existing container orchestration stack with Azure Container Apps. 
• Enforce best practices for infrastructure deployment and management. 
• Monitor system performance, set up alerts, and troubleshoot issues in real-time. 
• Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards and regulations. 
• Participate in capacity planning efforts. 

• Document platform configurations, procedures, and best practices. 

Skills and Qualifications: 

• Strong experience in building and managing cloud-based infrastructure with Microsoft Azure. Relevant AWS experience is welcomed.  
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform 
• Hands-on experience with Docker. 
• Expertise in scripting and automation using languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell. 
• In-depth knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions. 
• Ability to optimize infrastructure resources, monitor performance, and troubleshoot issues effectively. 
• An understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security controls for infrastructure. 
• Familiarity with network configurations, load balancing, and DNS management. 
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 
• Effective communication (verbal & written) and presentation skills. 

Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. 
• 2-5 years of experience in a similar platform engineering or DevOps role 
• Certifications in cloud platforms and relevant certifications in containerization and automation tools are a plus. 

Travel Requirements: 

• This role is a Remote role. However, travel to our office in Putnam, CT, may be required for any in-person meetings.
