POSITION PURPOSE:

Bonneville Sacramento is looking for a passionate leader to oversee, manage, and contribute to content across our Sactown Sports digital platforms with the goal of growing and maximizing our audience. The ideal candidate for this position demonstrates strong editorial skills and sound news judgment with experience reporting or writing for a print publication or online news/sports outlet. This is a unique position that requires extreme flexibility, including work on weekends, evenings, etc. In addition, the position requires the flexibility and dependability to work additional hours during breaking news and other big sporting events.

Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

  • This position is a hybrid role that requires the employee to sometimes work at our Sacramento location.  Specific hybrid schedules will be determined based on business needs and evaluated by mangers and senior management.

What You Will Do:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage the Sactown Sports digital content team and lead digital strategy to grow multi-platform content, audience, and engagement
  • Develop, coach, and train the Sactown Sports digital content team
  • Analyze and actively use data and metrics to inform editorial and strategic decisions and to create accountability for results
  • Create unique, engaging, shareable content that is consistent with the brand, ensuring that website and social channels are continually fresh from both a content, as well as a graphical perspective
  • Develop and organize a distribution plan of content across Sactown Sports’s digital platforms.
  • Work closely with Program Director, Sales Team, and Talent to promote and increase the monetizable engagement of audiences
  • Lead team trainings when necessary (i.e. best SEO practices, new programs and software, etc.)

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

  • Ability to generate highly creative, compelling sports programming for multi-platform distribution.  May require the production and gathering of text, images, audio/video, etc. 
  • Deep understanding of sports, including strong knowledge of the Sacramento sports scene and the Sactown Sports brand
  • Able to work independently with little supervision. Requires a track record of dependability and evidence of a being self-starter.
  • Understands and can disseminate analytical information to staff and management
  • Experience analyzing audience data and identifying behavioral trends
  • Must be willing to offer ideas, suggestions, and other initiatives for the company
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Capable of managing multiple projects and teams on an on-going basis
  • 5-7 years of content experience, including 2-5 years managing others preferred
  • 4-year degree (journalism, communications) or equivalent experience in the field

Physical Demands

  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively
  • Substantial movements of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
  • Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.

Compensation Range

$66,560 - $97,000 - Salary will be determined by an evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal and external benchmarks.
