Responsibilities:
- Act as client manager for a select group of client companies, responding on a timely basis to their inquiries, assisting with accurate financial statement presentation, and maintaining a collaborative relationship
- Prioritize workload to ensure timeliness of client deliverables
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly, maintaining supporting schedules as appropriate
- Identify and enter general ledger transactions and adjusting journal entries accurately
- Assess draft financial statements for obvious errors and trends
- Bill payment processing, invoicing, and payroll processing, as applicable
- Prepare sales and use tax calculations and associated compliance
- Mentor accounting clerks and staff accountant, including training, assistance with prioritization, and review of their work
Requirements:
- Three to five years accounting and/or bookkeeping experience
- A bachelor's of science degree in accounting or a related field
- Relevant software experience QuickBooks required (Xero, ACS or CSA, T-Sheets, Expensify and Bill.com preferred)
- Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills -- specifically Excel and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with all levels of personnel and with client contacts
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Commitment to providing exceptional client service through a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely completion of duties
- Appropriate ethical knowledge displayed through extraordinary confidentiality, integrity and professional presentation and conduct
- Ability to work effectively both within a team environment and independently
- An attitude of continuous improvement
