Job Description

Location: Kapolei, HI

Salary: $60,000 Annually

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic-minded professional to join our organization as the Assistant Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in directing the leadership team and team members to ensure clean, healthy, orderly, safe, and attractive conditions of the property.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas using basic professional cleaning tools, supplies, and chemicals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to work ethic, team support, high performance, and self-growth development.
  • Develop positive working relationships with each team member.
  • Explain company and departmental procedures clearly to contribute to overall department productivity.
  • Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and emergency procedures.
  • Develop and assist in departmental training programs.
  • Understand and have full knowledge of the property's work scope to ensure quality and staffing guide based on the scope of work.
  • Manage labor and expenses for the project in line with the budget.
  • Inspect all areas daily and monitor workflow to ensure the property is in a clean and attractive condition while correcting any discrepancies.
  • Ensure all team members work safely and comply with all company, OSHA, state, and federal regulations and have the proper equipment and supplies to complete tasks.
  • Provide a daily report of the shift and may be required to conduct scheduled and unscheduled walkthroughs with the client.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment preventative maintenance, replacements, and inventory of all equipment and chemicals.
  • Prepare weekly schedules and can make daily adjustments as needed within budget, procedure, and regulation parameters.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to company procedures, policies, and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Communicate all operational challenges to the Senior Operations Manager for discussion and resolution/action.
  • Project a professional impression and maintain a positive image with respect to the company.
  • Participate in cleaning activities alongside staff as needed; this emphasizes the hands-on aspect of the role and ensures that the Assistant Operations Manager is not only overseeing operations but also actively involved in the cleaning process when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience directly supervising a crew of 25 or more.
  • Minimum experience of 4 years facilities management in the janitorial industry preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License in good standing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Outlook preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and maintain simple documents.
  • Excellent knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and sanitary practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and various environmental conditions.
  • Physical ability to perform required tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Shift/Hours: Full-Time, Overnight/Graveyard shift starting as early as 9:00 PM and departing as late as 8:00 AM. Responsible for attending at least 3 walk-throughs a week with the client.
