 FS-ISAC is the member-driven, not-for-profit organization that advances cybersecurity and resilience in the global financial system, protecting financial institutions and the people they serve. Founded in 1999, the organization’s real-time information sharing network amplifies the intelligence, knowledge, and practices of its members for the financial sector's collective security and defense. Member financial firms represent $100 trillion in assets in more than 75 countries.

Given our members are some of the world’s biggest brands and our executives are regularly quoted in publications like Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, the New York Times, and Politico, we hold both our content and our brand to the highest of standards.

POSITION SUMMARY

 If you are a financial, cyber, and/or tech news junkie who can take complex concepts and deliver compelling, valuable content to business and technical audiences at the highest levels, we are looking for you.

The Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center is looking for a Senior Writer & Producer to take our editorial strategy and content creation to the next level. At a time where cybersecurity is of prime importance, FS-ISAC plays a leadership role in communicating how the financial services sector continuously advances its cybersecurity and resiliency through sharing of cyber intelligence and best practices in a trusted global community.

Our work has never been more relevant to the global economy. It fits squarely into the context of the digitization of financial services, emerging technologies such as AI, quantum computing, and digital currencies/Web 3.0, and new fintech players who are competing with traditional financial institutions. Cyber risk, once considered a back-office cost, is now a critical business risk, prioritized at the board level. Cyber is a key consideration in financial regulation as well as global geopolitics. Our Senior Writer and Producer understands the complexity of this landscape and how to communicate our narrative in a nuanced and continuously relevant way.

You may be a financial or tech journalist or manage content at a financial institution, fintech company, or cybersecurity firm, or you may have worked at an agency that serves these types of clients.

Above all, we are looking for an excellent writer who can deliver polished content for financial and cybersecurity executives, managers, analysts and the financial and cybersecurity press.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Build and drive editorial strategy and maintain editorial calendar
2. Write content for all FS-ISAC communications channels, including:
   1. Conduct interviews and draft articles with C-level executives from around the world
   2. Write bylines in partnership with our senior executives for placement in publications around the world
   3. Write and update website copy, including new permanent pages and campaigns
   4. Copywrite marketing content and materials
   5. Draft press releases on campaigns, reports, partnerships, etc.
   6. Draft responses to media inquiries, working with subject matter experts and senior leadership
   7. Work with our subject matter experts to turn technical content into valuable tactical blog content for our website
   8. Oversee social media content (LI and Twitter), edit posts, maintain steady stream of relevant content
   9. Produce and customize staff presentations for external events
   10. Script wide variety of video content including animations, promos, Year in Review, podcast intros, etc.
   11. Support executives and other teams with copy as needed, including speeches, email communications to member firms, etc.
   12. Track metrics and analytics to continuously improve results
3. Produce our new podcast: research and book guests, draft questions, work with editor to deliver finished product, produce promotional materials, clips etc. 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Demonstrated experience translating complex concepts in clearly written prose (include portfolio in application, additional writing samples may be required)
• 6-10 years of relevant experience in journalism, content creation, and/or PR agency
• Deep knowledge of financial services, capital markets, technology, fintech, cybersecurity, geopolitics (must have some, if not all)
• Experience interviewing, writing for and with senior executives, ideally at global financial institutions
• Global understanding: ability to write both at the global level as well as for local audiences on every continent
• Understanding of tone, voice, and brand and ability to ensure content is consistent with all, both from editorial and visual perspectives

• Podcast experience a plus
• Ease in getting up to speed on issues you know little about
• No hesitation getting your hands dirty and chipping in where needed
• Self-starter who takes the initiative and doesn't need to be micro-managed
• Creative thinker and collaborator who contributes new and fresh ideas to the team
• Comfort with remote teams and collaboration across the organization
• Technical skills: Microsoft Office, CMS (Hubspot), Adobe Creative Suite, Meltwater; ease of learning new tech platforms

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 Remote or hybrid with US East Coast or UK working hours. If you are located near one of our offices (Reston, VA, or London), it is hybrid, two days per week in the office.
