Youll work hard, well, and in a healthy environment. In other words, you are expected to meet deliverables on time, every time or, if there is a barrier, figure out ways to work around it, or communicate with the team to seek help.

Full-time hours are limited to a compact, 35-hour work week. Team Members set their own hours, and we encourage four-day work weeks.

Freelance and part-time hours are capped at 20 hours a week or less. For those who are interested in full-time opportunities, we may offer opportunities to transition to a full-time position if one becomes available and the transition is mutually beneficial to the individual and the firm.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are in search of a passionate and detail-oriented Operations Specialist to join our team. As an Operations Specialist, your focus will be on a spectrum of people- and process-related operational functions, thereby ensuring the seamless functioning and overall success of the organization. This role presents a unique opportunity to thrive in a dynamic, purpose-driven environment where your skills will play a pivotal role in making a positive difference in the world. Anticipated job responsibilities and expectations are as follows:

Operations Systems Management:
  • Oversee the adept utilization of technology to enhance and streamline operational systems.
  • Evaluate and recommend a diverse range of software solutions, encompassing HR tools (e.g., applicant tracking systems), productivity tools (e.g., Asana, Google Workspace), time management solutions (e.g., Harvest), and other relevant software (e.g., Otter) to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies in small business operations.
  • Work cross-functionally to integrate various software systems and streamline organizational processes.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and audit software solutions to improve the firms operations.
  • Implement and optimize software solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance organizational processes.
  • Ensure seamless integration of technology solutions into daily operations.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Provide training and support to staff on the effective use of operational systems.
Process and Policy Development and Compliance:
  • Develop, update, and communicate policies in alignment with social justice principles.
  • Provide guidance on policy interpretation and implementation.
  • Establish and document HR processes to ensure consistency and fairness.
  • Conduct regular audits to maintain adherence to policies.
Training and Development:
  • Identify training needs and coordinate relevant programs.
  • Support the development of a robust training curriculum.
  • Implement initiatives to encourage a culture of continuous learning and growth.
Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
  • Collaborate with various team members to ensure SOPs are aligned with organizational goals.
  • Implement and monitor adherence to SOPs to streamline operations.
  • Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures for HR processes.
People Recruitment and Onboarding:
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and create compelling job descriptions.
  • Source, screen, and interview candidates who align with our social justice values.
  • Develop and help implement onboarding processes to ensure a seamless integration for new team members.

  • Collaborate with leadership to determine comprehensive and competitive benefits offerings.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about industry best practices.
