INTEGRATED MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Position Objective:
The IMC Manager will work under the direction of the Chief Communication and Marketing Officer (CCMO) and other team members to support integrated marketing communications efforts that advance our mission. The position affords an early-career professional the opportunity to gain extensive experience and skills in the non-profit marketing communications discipline.
Essential Functions:
Media Relations:
- Develop and maintain lists of media outlets and contacts in Salesforce.
- Support the VPIMC (Vice President of Integrated Marketing Communications) in deepening media relationships in markets across the nation.
- Research new outlets (especially niche outlets, including trade publications)
Events:
- Under the direction of the CCMO and VPIMC, support events from a distance and on-site as needed, including assisting with preparation and send of emails, flyers, media releases, and on-site media relations/footage capture as needed.
- Pitch-in to support events teams as needed with even set up and breakdown on-site for select events. Some travel required.
Social Media:
- Lead gratitude provider – thanking constituents individually for comments and shares daily.
- Message tender – triage messages for CCMO review.
- Support social media plan implementation across social platforms and Foundation divisions, under the direction of the CCMO.
- Maintain lists of key volunteer accounts, interact within defined guardrails to deepen interactions with board members, scientists, and entities that hold relationships with the Foundation.
- Assist in establishing new business relationships in the digital space.
- Assist with reporting and identification of trends across channels.
- Support IT & CCMO in website updates as needed.
Internal Communications:
- Assist the CCMO and IT team in ensuring the SharePoint site and its related libraries are optimized for easy navigation, and that content is robust, including media libraries (i.e. event image libraries, key MarComm resources folders).
- Assist with creation and distribution of the staff newsletter.
Asana Project Management:
- Assist the VPIMC in build-out and upkeep of project; monitor in advance of key deadlines, attend meetings to establish project parameters, help shepherd projects to success on deadline.
Brand Management
- Under the direction of the CCMO, assist in deepening relationships that foster brand ambassadorship, including with lead volunteers, social influencers, and the like.

Education & Experience:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, or marketing-related discipline
Other Experience:
- Some progressively responsible professional experience in roles demanding a high-level of excellence.
- Some professional experience in deepening connections with individuals/communities
- Continued engagement in professional development
- Data capture/management experience
Work Environment and Travel
Port Washington, NY location and/or remote
Works closely with supervisor, other department leaders, and staff.
Very collaborative, team environment
Travel to events required. Roughly 30% travel.
