Job Description

The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Marketing team is looking for a dynamic Senior Manager, Event Marketing who shares our passion for digital media and is skilled in online media and marketing with proven success in creating successful digital marketing campaigns and driving registration and excitement for events.

Who You Are:

You are a dynamic and passionate individual with a deep understanding of digital media and a proven track record in online media and marketing. As the Senior Manager, Event Marketing at the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), you are a creative thinker and problem solver who thrives on driving successful digital marketing campaigns. You are both a leader and an individual contributor, capable of managing strategic and operational levels. Your enthusiasm for the advertising, marketing, and media industries, coupled with your excellent communication skills, make you an ideal candidate for this role.

What You Will Do:

As the Senior Manager, Event Marketing, you will take on the responsibility of crafting and executing the digital marketing and communications strategy for IAB's thought leadership event products, whether in-person, virtual, or hybrid. This includes flagship events like the Annual Leadership Meeting, PlayFronts, NewFronts, Podcast Upfront, Connected Commerce Summit, and more. Your role will involve leading omnichannel marketing planning, developing search engine optimized event webpages, creating compelling email marketing campaigns, and overseeing creative asset development, organic and paid social media, PR, and sponsorship deliverables.

Reporting to the Director, Events Marketing, you will be a key player in driving attendee acquisition and overall awareness through your leadership in creative strategy. You'll get to work on a variety of tasks, including testing new digital channels and strategies, project managing cross-functional teams, managing marketing budgets, and optimizing campaign performance and analyzing results. Your role also includes developing strategic marketing partnerships with other trade organizations, media publications, and IAB member companies.

Sample of Daily Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute digital and content marketing strategy for event products
  • Test new digital channels and strategies to support marketing plans
  • Project manage marketing deliverables with cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Manage marketing budgets, track campaign results, and suggest improvements
  • Create and edit targeted messaging for email marketing campaigns
  • Prioritize audience development through segmentation, personas, voice for digital targeting
  • Lead development and production of event videos from concept to deliverable
  • Analyze, develop, and present event marketing plans and attendance updates to leadership

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA or BS degree
  • 5+ years of experience in event marketing and communications
  • Strong digital marketing experience with successful performance campaign execution
  • Working knowledge of email marketing platforms, website design tools, and CRMs
  • Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels
  • Experience engaging with teams cross-functionally
  • Deep understanding of the digital media landscape and advertising technology
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management experience

Bonus Points:

  • Web design and video editing experience
  • Working knowledge of WordPress, HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, Canva, Google Analytics, social media posting platforms, or HTML/CSS
