BASIC FUNCTION:
Help with updating press lists, website fact-checking, social media posts, photo research, basic website maintenance.
WORK PERFORMED:
Overall intern duties: Assist with social media, research/data for website updates, photo sourcing, duties to be assigned
Social posts:
- Suggesting/drafting social posts from press releases (Twitter/LinkedIn)
- Writing assigned blog posts on various subjects and working with OPA press team members
- Reviewing other agency posts to flag for retweets
- Researching/suggesting other related topics for developing social posts (industry, economic development related, etc.)
Events:
- Help with event staffing and coverage as needed
Research:
- Updating press lists
- Working with Research to check/update website stats, rankings and information
- Work with Research to create regional dossiers of ESD projects
- Work with divisional “digital liaisons” to ensure the pages are reviewed on a regular basis
Photo needs:
- Organizing photo “library” in Public Affairs folder
- Photo sourcing to support website needs for industry and region pages and division pages
- New images/options covering range of topics such as: small business, MWBE, venture capital/startups, key industries such as semiconductors
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education level required: Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (Journalism, Communications, English, or Marketing preferred)
Knowledge Required: Excel, Word, basic social media skills, knowledge of AP Style.
