Job Description
Job Title:  Development & Donor Relations Coordinator BFLSA Status:  ExemptDepartment:  DevelopmentReports to: Development DirectorEffective Date:  1/1/2024Pay Rate:  $45,000 per year
                   $21.63 per hour
Position Overview:
Development & Donor Relations Coordinator B (DDRC B) works with the Development Department to maintain and oversee the Network for Good database, ensure meaningful and timely communication and donations acknowledgments, and ensure the donor stewardship plan is implemented. Provide administrative support to the Development Department and Development Director (DD) and participate in fundraising, community engagement, and special events.

HOURS: 40 hours weekly minimum or as necessary to achieve program objectives, responsibilities, and tasks.    
Work Schedule to include:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Management & Reporting – Time allocation: 30%
  • Monitor and maintain donor database, including processing incoming gifts and recording donations accurately.
  • Establish best practices and procedures to ensure database quality and integrity.
  • Produce monthly dashboard of key metrics for DD and ED approval.
  • Assist in generation of gift reports and donor research materials.
  • Manage and maintain the donor database and ensure database standards are executed and maintained.
  • Process all contributions and produce all donor acknowledgments, ensuring accurate, meaningful, and timely communication.
  • Ensure development stewardship plan is implemented and record activities in the donor database.
  • Meet regularly with DD to ensure progress toward team goals and individual goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including participating in staff retreats, donor relations activities as needed, and other clerical needs.
Stewardship Matrix – Time allocation: 30%
  • Assist with the management of gifts as donors intend as well as update donors on the progress and impact of their gifts.
  • Assist with donor engagement and cultivation.
Appeal Coordination – Time allocation: 15%
  • Assist in the development of all Agency appeals:
    • Gather information needed to create the Agency Appeals
    • Segment donors into groups of who will receive appeals.
    • Create Network for Good email Appeals and donation landing pages.
Event Administration – Time allocation: 15%
  • Communicate with potential sponsors as well as individuals who want to participate in events to include ticket sales.
  • Prepare, print, and distribute collateral for events.
  • Assist with all donor events as needed.
Administrative Duties – Time allocation: 10%
  • Serve as an administrative support to the Development Director
  • Answer Agency phonelines
  • Prepare collateral for Development Department
  • Utilize templates to create communication documents at the guidance of the Development Department
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Entry-level position, no additional required.
Education and Other Requirements:
  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree and/or experience in nonprofit donor development preferred.
  • Must pass a criminal background check, motor vehicle report, and reference checks.
  • Must have a clean driving record/automobile insurance coverage/be insurable/ have at least three years of verifiable driving experience.
  • Ability to lift/carry/move a minimum of 40 lbs. for an extended distance.
Job-Specific Competencies:
  • Computer knowledge of programs including Microsoft Office Suite, and strong overall web and social media understanding.
  • Ability to attend meetings/events outside of traditional working hours as necessary.
  • Must be a self-starter.
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills to assist with in-the-moment issues or crises.
  • Sensitivity regarding the issues of family violence and sexual assault.
  • Must embrace the mission of Bay Area Turning Point.
  • Demonstrated experience of administrative support and database maintenance
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal communication, attention to detail, proofreading, and writing skills.
  • Possess the ability to effectively work with and gain respect of a broad base of staff, volunteers, and the public.
  • Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of donors to meet or exceed their expectations within the organizational parameters.
  • Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, demonstrate presence and self-confidence, and possess good listening skills.
  • Ability to maintain files and problem solve when needed.
  • Possess strong customer service skills, tact, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and be an organized self-motivator.
  • Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Be culturally sensitive and able to work with multicultural client/customer population.
