As a DevOps / Software Release Engineer you will:

Work closely with a Principal Dev-ops Engineer to streamline our software release process, improve system reliability, and enhance our overall development workflow. You will also be creating software release packages for our customers, generating software release notes, adhering to formal customer and government protocols.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

DevOps Engineer

  1. Assist in the desing, implementation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, testing and deployment processes.
  2. Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot build and deployment issues and implement effective solutions.
  3. Support version control systems and ensire code repositories are properly maintained and organized.
  4. Monitor system performance and reliability, identify areas of improvement, and implement enhancements to optimize our infrastructure.
  5. Stay up-to-date with emerging devOps tools and technologies, and make recommendations for process improvements and tooling enhancements.

Software Release Engineer

  1. Work with the software and test teams to create Software Release packages, which includes, but not limited to, Release notes, test reports, and updating internal tracking utilities.
  2. Create and manage a master controlled items list (MCIL) where applicable.
  3. Create Engineering Change Proposals for government contracts.
  4. Create and release Engineering Change Orders (ECO's).
  5. Create and release Bill of Materials (BOM's).
  6. Document release procedures, best practices, and system configurations to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance with industry standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Less than 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a solid understanding of software development lifecycle and DevOps principles.
  3. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  4. Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or similar.
  5. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  1. Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Git, SVN).
  2. Knowledge of build tools and continuous integration systems.
  3. Familiarity with software packaging and distribution.
  4. Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
  5. Knowledge of export compliance regulations, including ITAR.
  6. Experience with Country of Origin (COO) requirements and compliance.
  7. Previous experience working in aerospace, defense, or a regulated industry is a plus.
