Job Description

Position Overview

 

The Academic Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for the design, implementation, and management 

of INTL’s enrichment programs throughout the year, including after-school enrichment classes, mini-camps, and summer camps, as well as the extended day experience for students. They will work closely with the Elementary School Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, and Elementary School Principal. The Academic Enrichment Coordinator will serve as the director and supervisor of the school’s program instructors. 

 

This is a full-time position that will report to the Elementary School Assistant Principal. Compensation is based on educational attainment and years of experience. The salary range for this full-time position for the 2024-25 school year is $70,000 to $82,000.

 Primary Responsibilities

Academic Enrichment Responsibilities

  • Serve as a dynamic leader, leading the school’s enrichment program, including all outdoor supervision, after-school enrichment programming, and camps. 
  • Plan, design, and implement enrichment and summer programs that align with the school's mission and values
    • Mini camps
    • Bilingual summer camps
    • Enrichment classes in English and in the target language
    • Extended day programming (remaining on campus until 6 pm daily or until all students have been picked up and staff have departed for the day)
  • Be the direct supervisor to, and provide ongoing training for Extended Day  Program Instructors
  • Collaborate with other school leaders to ensure the enrichment, extended care, and summer programs are integrated with the academic program and respond to the changing trends and needs of the school community
    • Find and engage enrichment offerings, develop enrichment catalog, manage the registration/withdrawal processes
    • Parent communication: enrichment catalog, schedule changes, camp updates, registration
 

School day responsibilities

  • Model and support the implementation of the school’s vision and goals
  • Communicate and work closely with the Dean of Students and Elementary School Principal and Assistant Principal to oversee student life
  • Serve as visible, active and engaged leaders outdoors- proactively engaging with students, assisting in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and building relationships with all members of the community 
  • Act as an on call substitute teacher as needed
  • Provide small group or individual student support as requested by the Elementary School Principal 
  • Assist the principal in serving parents, faculty, and student groups, as requested, in advancing educational activities and objectives.
  • Collaborate with teachers and program staff to ensure effective communication and engagement with parents and families regarding program activities, student progress, and other related matters
  • Assist with administrative tasks directed by the Elementary School Principal and Elementary School Assistant Principal.
  • Other duties as assigned 
 

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Ensure all programs meet health and safety standards and adhere to school policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, and financials
  • Responsible for procuring necessary equipment, supplies, and materials for all programs, ensuring that all purchases are within budget and in compliance with school policies and procedures
  • Manage all program-related inquiries and concerns, responding promptly and professionally to all communication from parents, students, and staff
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation and assessment of all programs to ensure effectiveness and make improvements as necessary

Position Qualifications/Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field
  • Experience working in a school and with enrichment programs
  • Previous leadership experience running afterschool programs, enrichment or licensed programs 
  • Teaching experience preferred but not required
  • An administrative leadership style based on effective human relations and a capacity to work effectively in a multicultural environment with an understanding and appreciation for diversity
  • Excellent communication and listening skills

  • A person is required to sit and stand for extended periods of time and to have the ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds
  • A person should be nimble enough to climb, crouch, kneel, bend, balance, stoop, stretch, twist, reach out, crawl, and be on the floor with children if needed.
  • Be able to physically control and/or restrain a young child solely for the purpose of avoiding dangerous situations for the child and/or others.
  • Use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects
  • Read, see details of objects that are more than a few feet away, and see differences between colors
 

Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation is based on education and years of experience. The salary range for this full-time position for the 2024-25 school year is $70,000 to $82,000, depending on experience. 

This position is categorized as an administrative staff member; we are therefore pleased to offer the following comprehensive benefits package,  which includes the following:

  • Employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for the employee only
  • Employer-paid short-term & long-term disability, life insurance, and employee assistance program 
  • Accrue six weeks of paid time off [9.85 hours per paid period]
  • Two weeks of holiday pay in December [which will include Christmas and New Year’s, per the school calendar]
  • Paid sick leave – eighty (80)-hours equivalent or ten (10) calendar days per fiscal year
  • Eight School holidays- per the school year calendar
