We are seeking a dynamic and creative Communications Intern to join our team. Reporting to the VP of Growth Strategy, the Communications Intern will play a vital role in crafting compelling stories about the people we support at Accord, coordinating video shoots, and assisting with various marketing tasks as assigned.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Storytelling: Write engaging stories highlighting the experiences and achievements of the individuals we support, capturing their impact on the community.
  • Video Coordination: Assist in coordinating video shoots, including scheduling, location scouting, and supporting participants during filming.
  • Marketing Support: Collaborate with the marketing team on various tasks such as social media management, email campaigns, website updates, and event promotion.
  • Content Creation: Produce creative content for digital platforms, including blog posts, social media updates, and promotional materials.
  • Research: Conduct research on industry trends and best practices to inform communication strategies and content development.
  • Administrative Tasks: Provide general administrative support as needed, including organizing files, scheduling meetings, and responding to inquiries.

Internship Duration and Expectations:
  • This is a 3 month internship position for 20 hours per week, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability.

Requirements

Credentials/Qualifications:
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft compelling narratives and engaging content.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for storytelling and a desire to make a positive impact through communication.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.

Education:
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.

Skills & Experience:
  • Basic knowledge of video production and editing tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is preferred.


Language Skills

Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to document in neat, legible, accurate, and objective manner. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from program staff and leadership.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including basic math operations like addition, subtraction, division, and calculating percentages.

Certificates/Licenses/Certifications

The incumbent of this position must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation to be used as needed for work related functions. Motor vehicle check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required. Approved Background check is required.

Technology

Must be able to use technology that is necessary to perform job responsibilities. Ability to use available technology effectively (including, but not limited to, voicemail, computer, printer, photocopier, fax and telephone, and various types of audio visual equipment).
