As a Senior Manager you are responsible for overall management of the Client Accounting & Advisory (CAAS) practice including supervision and scheduling of staff, calculating pricing proposals and managing the practices budget. You will also be responsible for the practices overall client portfolio and delivering an exceptional client experience in line with the firm’s core values.


Additionally, the Senior Manager is a part of the firms leadership team.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage practice budget, anticipate and communicate budget issues, identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability and assist with billing
  • Managing the CAAS personnel includes oversight of the hiring process, ensuring team is properly trained and annual performance evaluations are completed timely
  • Utilize technology to streamline processes and recommend areas for increased client efficiency and reduction in operating costs
  • Skilled in functionality and compliance of accounting software utilized by clients
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations as it pertains to accounting services
  • Provide clients with a well-developed strategic plan to execute their financial goals and optimize profitability
  • Participate in business development and identify opportunities to cross-sell value-added services to clients
  • Meet with prospective clients, prepare proposals, and follow up on referrals to determine the need for CAAS services
  • Establish the practice’s objectives, revenue, client and staff projections and identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability
  • Timely completes billing and monitors KPI’s for the practice
  • Acts as a Career Coach to staff, provides verbal and written performance feedback, and aids with goal setting
  • Oversee client service assignments and monitor completion of work deliverables
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business Administration required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation preferred
  • 7+ years of hands-on accounting experience with a large local, regional or national public accounting firm preferred
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Strong knowledge in accounting principles and practices and a growing knowledge of firm products and services within CAAS
  • Able to anticipate problems/barriers and help develop plans to address them
  • Deliver legendary service by making each interaction with our audit clients stand out
  • Establish personal and networking relationships with clients, prospects, and referral sources through active involvement in industry, civic, and social clubs
  • Share knowledge with others to facilitate skill development and career advancement
  • Build and lead a team effectively to cultivate an environment of trust, respect, and fairness
  • Great project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of tools, systems and processes and their practical applications
  • Solid technical knowledge in accounting and business management software; e.g., QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online (Enterprise, Premier, etc), and Financial Cents are strongly preferred
  • Experience with Xero, Sage, Intacct and Bill.com would be ideal
