Job Description
Salary:

The Training Specialist is an administrative position. The essential function and primary goal of the Training Specialist is to be the trainer for Essential Services LLC. The Training Specialist is responsible for training all DSPs’ and ES staff to ensure they complete their 24 hours of mandatory training, New Hire Training, CPR, and any other training deemed necessary.  The Training Specialist is an integral part of Essential Services LLC; and this role helps bridge the gap between Essential Services LLC, our DSPs, and the State of Oregon mandates on training.  Works with the Training Supervisor, to develop, implement, and train on all current and future training.   

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  

1. Works with supervisor to make decisions on training dates, locations, and times of training. 

2. Maintains clear communication with Essential Services employees. 

3. Provides weekly training analytic reports to supervisor. 

4. Researching, developing, and giving new training opportunities. 

5. Establish, develop, and maintain partnerships/relationships with local community for opportunities to connect with a broader      

    opportunity for training.   

6. Adhere to annual, quarterly, and monthly budgets for training. 

7. Work with supervisor on developing new areas of training. 

8. Maintain digital and hardcopy files of all training. 

9. Travel to other Oregon counties to give training to remote DSPs. 

10. Other duties as assigned.

2. Acting in accordance with relevant legislation and Essential Services policies, standards and procedures. 

3. Proposing changes within Essential Services what would improve the quality of service to clients, families, and the community at large. 

4. Developing and maintaining respectful, cooperative working relationships to contribute to the integrated, seamless delivery of    

    services, families, and the community at large. 

5. Understanding their role and responsibility in maintaining a safe workplace and reducing all workplace injuries. 

6. Ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and safekeeping of agency records. 

7. Understand that job duties may involve driving clients, acting as a DSP for clients on occasion, taking clients to the hospital, getting food boxes, to Dr. appointments, and doing well checks.    

 

Minimum Qualifications.  

 

1. Being at least 21 years of age. 

2. Successfully completing a DHS criminal history check. 

3. Being legally eligible to work in the United States. 

4. Demonstrating by background, education, references, skills, and abilities that he or she is capable of safely and adequately

    performing all tasks assigned. 

5. Having the ability and sufficient education to follow oral and written instructions and keep any records required. 

6. Having strong written and oral communications skills with clients, client’s family members, brokerage personnel and ES staff. 

7. Responsibility, maturity, and reputable character exercising sound judgment. 

8. Not being the spouse of any client that the employee works directly with. 

9. Having no substantiated abuse or neglect findings against them by DHS, CDDP or other appropriate authority. 

10. Not being on the current Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services list of excluded or debarred providers. 

11. Holding a valid driver’s license and appropriate levels of auto insurance if driving as part of job duties.

7. Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times for clients and employees 

8. Detailed oriented 

9. Ability to communicate with clients and employees through SMS, email, phone call, and in person. 

10. Understanding of computers and software programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe Fill & Sign, Google

      Documents, Internet Explorer, Windows, phone-based applications, and E-mail correspondence. 

11. Understanding of social media platforms to include but not limited to, Facebook, and Instagram. 

12. Ability to follow instructions and work independently, exercise good judgment, and prioritize daily tasks. 

13. Ability to work as a member of a team and work within the Policies and Procedures and the vision, mission and core values

       established by Essential Services LLC,. 

14. Ability to work independently within the policies and procedures, vision mission and core values established by Essential Services

       LLC,. 

 

 Essential Services employees shall provide the following minimum training. 

 

1. Mandatory abuse reporter status and procedures for reporting abuse and neglect. 

2. Client confidentiality. 

3. CPR & First Aid. 

4. Emergency procedures. 

5. Sexual harassment in the workplace. 

6. Essential Services employees shall be required to complete a TB test that is administered by a licensed medical professional or facility, if regulations require such a test before working with a specific client.
