The Development Director position has a variety of responsibilities and assists in coordinating the efforts to increase the organizations funding base.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Research, identify, analyze, and recommend applicable grant funding opportunities from government agencies (local, state and federal), corporations, and private and public foundations.
Generate revenue for organization programs and services through timely submission of well researched, well-written and well-documented grant proposals.
Manage and implement grant database, funder research files, grant application deadlines and reporting schedules for tracking grant information.
Responsible for preparation and timely submission of all grant reports, including mid-term, progress reports and final reports to funders.
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a bachelors degree in business, marketing, or nonprofit management
EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years experience and advanced technical skills in preparing grant proposals with documented track record of success in generating revenue. Experience working in a behavioral health organization is preferred.
One (1) year experience in Fundraising
One (1) year experience in Grant writing
One (1) year experience in Marketing
SKILLS:
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office including Publisher.
Adobe In Design knowledge preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Outstanding critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently.
High level of initiative
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under pressure when multiple grants are due in the same time frame.
Ability to take initiative, work independently, and use innovative techniques and ingenuity to prepare grant applications.
Must be able to analyze and evaluate information. Must have strong organizational skills.
