City Tree Christian School Mission

City Tree Christian School (CTCS) serves the children of San Diego as an outreach ministry of First Presbyterian Church (FPC) of San Diego dedicated to academic excellence integrated with the Biblical teachings of Jesus Christ. City Tree Christian School is a wonderful community of teachers, staff, and families working together to educate our children in a loving Christian environment. We are an ethnically and socio-economically diverse school located in downtown San Diego. About 200 students attend our school-age infants through eighth grade. Our school is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.


SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Director of Enrollment and Marketing will demonstrate a consistent and enthusiastic commitment to Jesus Christ and support the mission of City Tree Christian School. The Director of Enrollment and Marketing is responsible for planning and implementing programs to market City Tree Christian School to prospective families with the goal of increasing tuition revenue, and for managing the enrollment process to convey who City Tree is as a school and ensure an inviting and smooth transition into the school community.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Manage marketing efforts for City Tree Christian School (CTCS) focusing on the following:

  • Marketing Plan-Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for the school.
  • Story Telling-Tell the City Tree Christian School story through effective writing and speaking. The director will provide leadership for the school's team in crafting these stories and communicating them throughout its various outlets.
  • Internal Marketing-Develop and implement an internal marketing strategy to reinforce the school's core brand messages and customer satisfaction to the parent community.
  • Word-of-Mouth Marketing-Develop and implement an effective word-of-mouth marketing strategy that will create internal and external buzz for the school.
  • Web-Based Marketing-Provide oversight and leadership to the school's website by regularly updating the content, news and videos. In addition, utilize web-based marketing strategies to increase the online presence for the school including the effective use of social media sites and search engine optimization for the website.
  • External Marketing-Develop and implement an external marketing effort that will generate increased awareness for the school within all of its target constituencies including parents, faculty/staff, grandparents, alumni, donors and friends, as well as within the community.
  • Events-Provide event marketing for admissions, retention and marketing including open houses, re-enrollment, etc.
  • City Tree Christian School Brand Awareness-Provide leadership to the school community for the City Tree Christian School brand by enforcing brand standards
  • Internal Communications-Provide a consistent, timely and compelling flow of internal marketing communications to the current parents through the use of mailings, the school's website, social media, email newsletter and other strategies.
  • External Communications-Provide a regular flow of external marketing communications to all constituent groups through the use of mailings, the school's website, social media, email newsletter and other strategies.

Manage the admissions process for City Tree Christian School (CTCS) focusing on the following:

  • Inquiries - respond to all inquiries in a timely manner clearly conveying City Tree Christian School to prospective families.
  • Lead nurturing - Consistently follow up with inquiring families and nurture them through the enrollment process documenting progress and actions taken.
  • Campus visits and events - host campus admissions events and give prospective families tours of our campus outlining our program and telling the stories of City Tree Christian School.
  • Application and Enrollment - manage the application and enrollment process within FACTS Student Information System and Tuition Management. Follow up with families on each step of the admissions process ensuring consistent communication and movement through the process to maximize enrollment.
  • Onboarding new families - provide new families with communication, resources, and community connections to ensure a smooth transition to City Tree Christian School.

Collaborate with Administration and staff to discuss results, strategy implementation, and progress towards initiatives. Other duties as assigned by Administration.

  • Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing, in the English language in order to communicate with staff, students, church members, visitors and parents.
  • The director should be very personable and easy to talk to since this individual will be the first point of contact for many at the school.
  • Must possess strong oral and presentation skills for individual, small and large group communications.
  • Dependable, organized and self-starting; able to successfully work independently.
  • Demonstrates ethical conduct at all times; able to handle difficult situations with a high level of tact and diplomacy.
  • Team oriented; able to work collaboratively with a wide variety of people, staff, guests, members and volunteer workers.
  • Capable of balancing and prioritizing workload to successfully execute goals in a timely manner.
  • The director should have knowledge of and experience using web-based marketing strategies and should seek to effectively implement these strategies.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Experience with or ability to learn the following is desired:

  • MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and One Drive
  • Wordpress and Wix platform for maintaining a website
  • Social Media platforms
  • Student Information System such as FACTS
  • Canva
  • Constant Contact
  • Google Suite

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • College diploma preferably in marketing, business management, or related field
  • Prior experience working in marketing strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience working in a school setting preferred.
